Who approves this for PSCC? I've requested it now for several weeks... :unimpressed:

Unfortunately, the request thing does not notify me that someone has requested so it's pretty useless in my opinion. People don't request often enough to go look at the page where it shows requests (a pain to get to) very often. I just usually wait for someone to email or PM me. You're in now, Theo.

Rick, there is a way to set up automatic notification. The notification includes a link that takes you right to the page for approval. I've used the link, but never approved anyone. Steve always beats me to it.

I get an email, hit the link and approve them... Seems to work fine?

Jeff and Nicole surprised me, I'm not aware there was any "recruiting" to get them to switch.

I get emails every time someone requests for CASOC, sounds like Geroge and Steve do too.

The points don't transfer, your points go to the team you belonged to at the time.

Best way to encourage someone to stay probably isn't to try and throw a bunch of obstacles in their way and make things harder for them. ;)

Not up to Seb. It is up to the board to approve the request.

No Team Blew obstacles ... I just wanted to point out that there is a CSCC procedure that needs to be followed ... for one thing because of points.

I think we have enough material in our region to start a sitcom. I'm serious do we have any one that can write a script 8-)

Actor 1: Dude, I almost had you
Actor 2: You almost had me? You never even had your car. **hold for laughter**
Actor 1: I need NOS ... big ones.

Wait, is that from a movie?

Yeah, well where is it? I've wasted too much time trying to find this setting already. I have never received any kind of notification.

So this is real great programming. I, as a moderator, add someone to the forum. But they don't show up in the membership list. Oh wait, scroll all the way to the bottom of the membership list and there's the people that have requested membership, including the one I just added. So even though I, as a moderator, added them, I still have to approve them. I swear, it seems that what's taught in school these days is how complicated can you make something, how many levels of menus can you create for people to search through to find something that is used constantly and should be the first thing you see. I majored in programming in college when the idea was to keep it simple and efficient. I miss DOS...........

Well.. being a moderator for a forum has nothing to do with access for people to that forum. To give people access to the pscc forum you actually just adding or removing them from the PSCC group. You shouldn't need to approve anyone when you add them yourself. Should be just Control Panel->Usergroups->Manage Groups then you click manage users for the group you want to manage and type there names into the box towards the bottom.

Not sure why you wouldn't be receiving emails from the board, you're set up exactly the same as all the other group leaders and group leaders should get a message on request to join a group.

Maybe it's a bug, next week i'm going to be moving the site to a new server and i'll be upgrading the forum at the same time.
