Covina/Azusa area tire mounters?
I'm looking for a shop near Azusa that's competent to mount Kumho V710s and won't charge me a ton of money to do it. Does anybody know a place?

I recommend Tucker also. That's my tire store.Michael Sullivan wrote:Tucker Tire on Azusa Ave.

Island Tire, East end of Pasadena. Never have to remind them to line up the yellow dot with the valve stem. Good prices

Re: Covina/Azusa area tire mounters?
I've been using Jose at Island Tire in Pasadena since they opened. They handle most of the local enthusiast crowd.
Installed the tough oversized 35 series on my Bimmer last Friday and didn't mind swapping the old run flats onto a buddies 335. Plus I do all my race tires there.
The little ST tires are $48 to mount and balance, they charge a little more for lower profile. And they do a good job with the tough stuff.
Next up for them... 6 ST235-80-16 Load E trailer tires on a nearly 60FT long rig... I'll be tying up their lot for most of Friday.

I'll give Tucker a third recommendation, plus if you looking for spacers, they have 1/4" ones for $5.00 each. I also have my race tires done at the Americas Tire in Glendora (since our deal w/ the Chino Hills store no longer exists).

The Chino deal moved to the Ontario Mills store. I haven't used a tire shop in years so I don't know if it (what's his name?) still exists.Craig Naylor wrote: I also have my race tires done at the Americas Tire in Glendora (since our deal w/ the Chino Hills store no longer exists).

Re: Covina/Azusa area tire mounters?
After Larry moved from the Chino Hills office to Landcaster, the location continued the offer Larry had set up until the Asst. Mgr also left. Once I learned Larry moved to the Ontario Mills location I made that drive.
.... but Larry says he can't make the offer that he once did. Last two sets I made the drive for was at price matching for the tires (company policy), but full retail for the mounting, balance etc. Because I appreciated the offer he made on the race rubber, I even drove to his locations for my street tires and paid the going rates of the shop.
All locations will do the price matching, so there's no longer any benefit to going to Larry. Having learned this on the first trip to Ontario Mills, I made the second trip out of loyalty to his prior offers. But I can't justify continuing to drive 80 miles round trip going forward for race rubber or street tires.
