2010 SCCA "Dixie" National Tour Results

Economy??? What economy? :)
Nearly 300 entries arrived at South Georgia Motorsports Park to open the Solo National Tour on a pair of courses designed by Dixie Region member Robert Lewis.

Top 7 in ST are on Toyo's ;) I blame Ken Motonishi :)

Omg! A 325 in 1st place in STX, where are the Subies? Maybe I won't torch my car for the insurance money after all ... lol

With Tom behind the wheels of a 325 I forsee a 325 winning the whole enchilada this year

I don't see why the 325 can't win, a E36 328 won last year...but I still think the RX-8 is the best car for the class. The allowance of 265 tires AND 9" wheels for 2wd cars, combined with moving from slippery HPT to grippy lincoln was a big blow to the WRX, I think they can still get it done though...especially for Pro Solo. I think the SEB should have allowed the AWD STX cars 9" wheels though, they can't use the 245 section width tires to full effect on 8" wheels.

The real news is STR showing potential, and sticking it to ST (that and a Datsun Roadster winning CSP! )

Guy who won nationals in STX came in second. Competition must have been stiff.

No kidding, the Larssonmobile was 1-3-5 in overall PAX for the event Sunday in SD, with Kiesel relegated to 2nd again (Jeff had mechanical issues that limited the car to 1 good run). PAX has become a race for 4th or 5th if both of those cars are there on decent tires. Loads of fun for us mere mortals at 2-3 seconds back. I guess we're lucky the Berry Evo doesn't come down much }:)

Actually, I was hugely impressed with Bev's performance Sunday - she was smokin' fast.

Another case of the index not keeping up with new tires, like CSP when the 275 Hoosier was introduced. (not that the Larssongoldsmithkiesel drivers aren't driving well too)

Actually, all it did was bring the NA and NB Miatas even with the then dominate MX-5 w/285s.

It's starting to feel like 2005 again....
Honestly the tires are a smaller part of the increased speed then all the other changes to the car since Nationals.

Looks like the '09 champ 328 was the second place car.

STR was fast, 2 sec over proven ST* drivers. Rick Ruth, ST* class PAX adjustment? :)

Lot of cones penalties, wonder what the course was like?

Scroll down in this post, by sirbunz, videos of each day. Very cone intensive, all transitions with tight turn arounds.

Maybe I'm just spoiled, but this and last year's Dixie courses looked waaaay tight to me see this angle from a BS S2000 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jow9TiDiI40.

Only Per's video from B-Mod looks like fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M588KhGCUR4

On a side note, I want a B-mod car. :o

That's what I thought when I first started in the kart. But it's surprising how you adapt. Now it seems I have plenty of time to look ahead.

I have a B Mod car. Only problem is it's a home built 1966 D Sports Racer in serious need of a complete restoration. Aluminum monocoque chassis powered by a 1000cc motorcycle engine. Would not really ever be competitive.
