Any SK drivers entering the SD tour?

Post by Jack Tsou »

I'm thinking of entering the tour.. just wondering if anyone else is going...:)

How do we check the current entry list for SK1/2?
Are both listed under AM?

I can't make it this year ... again. Not working for five weeks this year really killed any chance of me doing the Tour or the ProSolo this year.

No registration is not closed. You have a little more than a week to get the early registration price.
All the SK1/SK2 drivers are signed up in AMod.
There is another thread about SK at the tour and the Pro.

I believe Dan meant too late for himself to take time off from work for the Tour.

I've even done the SD Tour driving in Saturday morning - from Northridge. Just an early morning, that's all.

You probably won't be able to run practice laps on the practice course, as ticket sales usually stop by early afternoon. Tech and Reg are open till ~either 6 or 7:00pm (listed on event site), and again for a VERY limited time on Saturday morning to those who pre-registered. I note this as registration (with late fee) is possible on Friday if the event has not hit it's cap, but not on Saturday morning.

Perhaps the SK drivers could advertise co-driving options ... you can make it worth your while ... in order to help get the numbers up

See this guys?? This is the kind of thinking "outside the box" that you need to keep SK1/SK2 alive. That's what the STU guys did when numbers were stagnant. Offer co-drives.

Hehe, when STX was young it was Vincent Wong and Robert Puertes looking for co-driver's day of the ProSolo to fill the class, they mentioned it to me since I was working the gate that day. Along came David Palmquist and Chris Grivas with long faces from a blown motor, so I pointed them to STX. They proceeded to wipe the STX floor and if I remember right took a round or two in the ProChallenge. I don't think that's the result Robert and Vincent had in mind, sorry guys :-)

The great David Palmquist breakout event. I was working course during the challenge rounds as he kept getting much faster as he learned the car. Some of the best driving I've EVER seen was on that day.

Registered for SD Tour...:D
And why is Tom Berry in AM? :o :?

Just read the tech procedure for tours.
Looks like just 1 decal on each side and SCCA wired-wheel in the front this year plus the TR.com window banner.
Also no rule book requirement this year.

Yeah, definitely not the results we were looking for, but we knew that up front. :(

Wish I can run the NT and ProSolo this year in SK, but they're too close to when my wife will give birth to my twin tiger girls. :D
