My trick...was not just checking the website but I had the URL for the Solo PDF file already in my browser. But since it wasn't updated, all it said was "HTTP 404 error - file not found". I kept on refreshing that tab on the browser every 5-10mins Then all of sudden on 1 refresh...viola....the PDF came up.
So if Aaron can update my title from Executive Board member to King of Fastrack, that'd be great

Damn I was doing the same thing too. Had a post created in Notepad window ready to pounce. Yeah last month I wanted to get back into the game. Went to lunch at 12:30pm and nothing. Came back at 1:30pm and Tom Denham posted.

Since I know you could run in any SP class you like, I'll believe that is a pretty unbiased answer.
I'm surprised though, to this outsider it seems like they would have to put all the Miatas on the same line for them to have enough power and still retain it's advantage of a smaller footprint.

The Miata's have better low-end (for given weight and gearing) and should out-accelerate the S2k to 37ish, if not low to mid 40's (this compared to an S2K geared only to 62ish which is a disadvantage). Plus they're running almost as much tire and are at a min 500lbs lighter for the NA/B's...
It's maybe close enough to try... And I'll probably write a letter in support, though mostly because I wouldn't be hosed at Pro's and when conditions aren't great... I don't see why they shouldn't consider moving the C4's and E36's down either...
If these cars get moved to CSP it would make for a very interesting class. Fun to watch.
As far as speculating which car would be best, I would hope that the Miata is the car to have but If I had more money I would be buying an S2000. The Miata has 500 less lbs, 80 hp less, 35 less lb-ft, 1.5" smaller OD tires and 10-30 mm narrower tires. It seems to me that vehicle width in SP trim is similar with the Miata probably narrower. Cornering grip probably favors the Miata by a very small margin. The Miata gets to about 64 mph in second but it has effectively a longer second gear which hurts torque multiplication.
The good thing is that the Miata deals very well with any bumpy surface regardless of the spring rates. The secret is that it flexes about 10 times more than the S2000 which makes spring choices almost irrelevant once you are past 650s on the front.

I think the 914 4cyc and 914-6 got split up a few years back, which would make SP trimmed 914-6's much, much rarer (you can't drop a 6 into a 914 4cyc anymore). It's probably appropriate not to make a rare care all that competitive.
