2-3 hours is what I get out of my compact camera, so that's not really a problem. Thanks for the info! I'm assuming you're using the Panavise mount that they sell for it.Ravid Avrahamian wrote:
The camera itself is small, light and the video quality is very good. However, the camera was designed for use mainly powered by it's battery (2-3 hours - full charge)

I want to see Toby's and Mike S's videos!
That Contour sound DOES sound fine ... I was going off of some of the sample Contour vids. I believe the GoPro sound is better when the camera is out in the wind? The camera is shielded in a plastic protective box ... that also shields the mic from direct wind?

Here's my video from the practice and champ - it's long at 8 minutes because it covers four drivers, two cars, and five runs - but if you click on the description below the video, there are links to each run:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tgfWXJfKlk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Practice Runs:
1) :10 - Jon Lugod in my Miata
2) 1:43 - Ken Motonishi in my Miata
3) 3:17 - Me in my Miata
Champ Runs in SK2:
4) 4:51 - Adrian in his Mini Run#2
5) 6:33 - Me in Adrian's Mini Run#3
Data on all runs - but my champ runs got some satellite drift or interference or something.

No video for us, one of the cables came unplugged and we didn't notice it till the our runs were over. :unimpressed:

Yeah, the mic is too good. It picks up all my swearing after I screw up...Leonard Cachola wrote:I agree! Ravid, have you had any sound issues?Henry Bjoin wrote: The sound quality on the Greg Dennis video seems pretty good to me!

No, no sound issues when it was mounted inside the car; however, if you mount it outside the wind noise is pretty bad.
I will try to upload a short clip from 3/28 Autox (I mounted the camera on the roof on the car) so you can hear the difference later today.
The camera has a sound gain setting that I have not played with yet, but I don't think it will change even if I do lower it.
Ravid.

;) For the right offer Toby says he'd be happy to sell the car with all that information.Mako Koiwai wrote:What type of sustained G forces are you guys seeing out of Toby's BMW ... Mike's ?

Curious why you guys aren't considering ChaseCam, is it just price?
I sure would like one, great features, I've seen how well it works on a kart and of course it's made by a fellow autocrosser, just not in my budget (can't even afford to fix my kart at the moment, so accessories aren't even on the list

The ChaseCam certainly makes a lot of sense for the convertible crowd, since you have an external mic that can be tucked away out of the wind.
Shaun and I use the ChaseCam PDR100, with external mic and remote start (little button taped to the dash to turn the camera record on and off).

Who said I wasn't? But, yeah, the price is a turn-off, but I do realize you get what you pay for. I've got car repairs to do that take priority over a $1000 camera.Rick Brown wrote:Curious why you guys aren't considering ChaseCam, is it just price?

Yup. And I even have $250 off from the Pro last year. They're great systems, though, and if I could swing it financially, I wouldn't hesitate.Rick Brown wrote:Curious why you guys aren't considering ChaseCam, is it just price?

Chasecam is the best, just out of my price range.

I have looked through the contact sheet a.k.a. thumbnails and don't see any Corvettes. Especially I am looking for a dark blue C4 Corvette #314, any hope for me?
Thanks

Better Late then Never. Here is my best lap in my ESP Class Subaru WRX Wagon. Just installed some used Koni 8611's Double Adjustable coilovers and I couldn't be happier.
