Rhoades says his runs were awful, so these must be worse than awful:

I got out before the snow got too bad, but did run into this (twice):

We thought that was your black Corvette on the side of the road. Did you have a radar detector? I noticed that the radar in Nevada seemed to photo style or instant on.

I just set the cruise control to 74 on 93/318/6/93A.... I figure 74 in a 24Klbs rig is fast enough....

In the incident pictured only 82. At that speed I typically don't worry about cops over here... no radar detector in the car, I'll bring it next year.

Nevada traffic cops are notoriously nasty. Wife born & raised in Reno so we're in the area often. A while back wife got cited for 32 in a 25 on a two block stretch with this special reduced speed (trap) limit. The cops sit in private driveways out of sight. Near my father in laws place is a school zone - 15mph when school is in session. Not unusual for folks to get whacked for doing 20 mph (or less).

Unfortunately yes. I don't think it was a great idea to tell the 2nd guy that I already got tagged.

I'm sorry for your misfortune, and it's great you can keep your sense of humor about it. Let's hope, with the law of averages, that you're safe for another 15 years!!!

I got one too: 70 mph towing a trailer, 15 miles from the Nevada border where doing the same thing is legal.

Did some research and indeed Nevada HP is using POP radar. Still worth having a detector.

It is, because the wave travels pretty far along a flat surface. If he zaps a car a few miles in front of you, you'll still get an indicator. I'm pissed I didn't bring mine. I almost did but figured how much trouble can I get into towing a freakin' trailer :unimpressed:

The 15-20 miles across the state border is a known area... plus we were getting all kinds of alarms on the V1.
