Music selections for video's

Post by Arthur Grant »

Ok, on the pure vanity front, (yeah I know we all record the runs only for the learning experiance) but if you have to strip the sound, or just want a musical background for freinds, family and the youtube audience. What are your favorite tunes?

Joe Satriani's Surfing with the Alien is a classic, for starters.

You have to be a bit careful with music even on YouTube. If any of you saw my tribute video to Craig a while back, I used a Joey Ramone song. YouTube stripped the audio off of it for copyright infringement. ????? It had like 100 hits. I have no idea why I got singled out because I hear copyrighted music all the time on there. So just be aware.

I'd rather hear whatever the camera picked up, even if it's mostly wind. Just me though.

I'm going to try out covering my mic with some sort of fabric for the next even to try and fix the wind noise.

Agee wind noise would have been ok, but the constant clicking of the camera tapping the windshield could drive you mad.

Back when we first started ChaseCam (1997!) and before we learned that microphones IN the camera suck... we did a lot of music overlays to cover wind noise.

I tried to keep them on theme....and of course the music choices reflect my age. :)

The Doors. Break On Through.
U2. Where the Streets Have No Name. (I always like the play on words here)
U2. Still Haven't Found, What I'm Looking For.
Bruce Springsteen. Born to Run.
Primus. Jerry was a Race Car Driver.
Meatloaf. Bat Out of Hell
Alice Cooper. Under My Wheels
Golden Earing. Radar Love
Greenday. Burn Out
Steppenwolf. Born to be Wild.
