sorry, i've got this freshly retired uncle, who's got nothing to do all day except to send out "warning e-mails" out to the entire family. I get to see these things pretty much the second it starts getting any traction.

tried to get my uncle to at least LOOK at snopes before sending out his spam, but it's been almost a year, and he still does it.. >_<

Same here. Between my late grandma, my aunt and my mom, I learned very quickly the value of snopes.com. But for the life of me, I ned to send them the links to the articles every damed time, cuz they refuse to try and see if there's any validity to these things before carpet bombing everyone with the e-warnings.

you need to counter spam them. Set up a forwarding list from the snopes RSS feed (do they have an RSS feed?). as soon as they post a new spam buster you just have it automatically forwarded to your mom.

My wife's cousin used to send all kinds of crap, never once checking the veracity of it.
