K1 invasion...

Post by Mark DeShon »

Hey all. Me and a couple of my coworkers will be at K1 in Ontario at about 5pm tomorrow (friday), just doing some arrive and drive. I've never been to K1, but It'd be cool if some of the IE guys/gals could join us.

After the fact let me know if you fore arms are killing you. Used one of the races from the free card we were given for supporting the FSAE event and thought by 5 laps I was back training in high school. Not sure if I have become a power steering wimp, and too heavy for the karts or what. Do know that at my height the seat belt brakets where in my shoulder blades. Went to Anaheim, great track, fast, but got stuck with a group of 3 kids, two of which were very inexperienced and had a couple of spectacular wrecks that had us stopped or under caution a lot.

Have fun, post the result.

Had tons of fun. Took best time amongst my coworkers in both groups, one of which has run there a bunch. He was damn quick, though. However, there was one guy in a different group who was considerably faster (.4 seconds) and of course I'm way off the record times. Actually learned some things about my driving. My line selection needs some help.
Not my forearms, but my biceps are pretty sore. Funny story: After the first session I mentioned something to one of my other coworkers about my arms being sore. He's never done anything like this before. He kinda laughed at that and said his weren't. Of course my response to that was he wasn't going fast enough, then. Second session he started chasing me, cut his lap times by nearly 3 seconds, THEN his arms were sore. :D
I'll definitely be going back.
