PSCC Practice Photos & Videos

Post by Mako Koiwai »

Slow Motion Video sample from today ... thanks to Pete Loney's Casio EX-F1, and PSCC for letting Karen and I "run when we could," so that we could make sure we were able to video tape everyone:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkW4KpjgXQ0

First Batch from Saturday up:

If anyone figures out a better link, let us know. As the account holder I get different looks and pages.

Since I can't charge like I do when I sell prints or files, if you gain some practical use from these and the many upcoming slow motion videos, please consider making a PayPal donation to makofoto at earthlink dot net

I'm not going through all of the files to check for problems ... so there could be false camera starts, out of focus takes, etc. mixed in among the OK shots.

Nice video, neat to watch the vehicle dynamics as it gets away. Really glad you were filming this yesterday when I was putting on a clinic in how to spin out. Always more fun to watch when its someone else.

Another 50 uploading, and another 50, and now another 50 ... uploading seems to be going much smoother this time ... already uploaded something like 4 gigs from the weekend ... but Will K and I will be trying a new system this evening that allows us to upload everything directly to the CSCC's vast storage space ... with Thumbnails.

Watch the pivot cone in the box. Will it fall or remain standing? You decide. Timber.

180 clips still to upload ...

((150 got uploaded twice!!! For the race day clips I went in chronological order. For the Practice day I went in reverse order, figuring everyones laps were better later in the day. Halfway through adding clips to the Batch Uploader, I started going back in the other direction ... matching what I was doing with the race day clips!!! :( )

Just do that with every cone on the course, and you'll be National Champion!

ALL Clips from Saturday's Practice have been uploaded The FIRST 26 clips (uploaded Last) had to be posted on Blip.TV because I ran out of room on Vimeo. SEEMS LIKE SOME OF THOSE FILES ARE STILL BEING "Converted" by Blip.TV

Since I can't charge like I do when I sell prints or files, if you gain some practical use from these slow motion videos (set-up help, facebook bragging), please consider making a PayPal donation to makofoto at earthlink dot net

I'm resisting Blip.TV's suggestion that I turn on income producing Advertising for your benefit. (An AD before each clip!)

We were able to get footage of EVERYONE on Saturday.

I'm not going through all of the files to check for problems ... so there could be false camera starts, out-of-focus shots, etc. mixed in among the OK shots. Note ... lots of resolution robbing heat waves as the day warms up.

First 26 runs:

The rest of Saturdays runs:

no STILL photos

... and stills grabbed from these low rez video files are pretty bad. (In order for the camera to shoot at 300 frames per second it has to lower the resolution of the files.)

Mako first of let me express my appreciation for you doing this. Second I would offer if you can earn a little by letting blip put an ad at the front that seems fair considering we are getting something without up front expense.

Having said all of the that I have been through files all the way until next year on both video sites and havent' been able to find my vette. Since I know you got everyone on Saturday and I ran early would expect to see my car. One of three things happened, either I have selective blindness and it's staring me in the face, it is behind one of the rainbow fronts, empty scenes or red x's and I haven't found door number 3, or last but not likely I'm not there. If you happen to know where I ended up a hint would be appreciated.

Art ... we specifically shot Group 1 right after lunch because we didn't get the beginning of Group 1 when they ran in the morning because we were getting ready and we did a few runs ourself (4 runs I believe). Did you NOT run after lunch? I'll check my files ... I THOUGHT I got everything uploaded.

As a Photo Package buyer I of course don't expect you to pay anything extra. Having to watch an AD before EACH video would be horrible ... as part of the fun is just going through and checking a lot of different videos/cars/drivers.

No problem, I didn't run after lunch, shared my runs with Maihi.

For fathers day and my wifes birthday (same day) my oldest daughter had given us a tour of Mission San Juan and the Zoro exhibit with a promise of tickets later. (She didn't tell me what day until Friday night). It worked out, the vette was evil Saturday discovered what worn out 710's are like. I made 5 runs, Maihi made one we spun on all but the first.

Know we don't have any from race day as Karen and I were running at the same time. It's all good.

And actually I wouldn't have minded a little extra for a video. Different product. As you pointed out the subscription doesnt assure me of shots.

BTW shame its a little fuzzy really like the star burst on the front of the Miata in the video still.
