In the vein of that great thome on life if you give a mouse a cookie - my good condition used V710's that Tom Dobyns gave me seemed to create a new problem on Sunday. Even though I was running 275's all round, I had enough grip to hook up really well. I felt like I had to get on the brakes earlier than I wanted becuase I was carrying more speed through sweeping corners and slaloms and arriving at that tight turns couldn't shed the speed fast enough. I am running ceramic pads, don't have a problem with fade, just might like more agressive pads if I decide to buy a new set of V710's for the 2011 season. Not sure if Santa has that in his bag, but I am dropping hints 5 months in advance.
Suggestions on streetable pads that would be an improvement? I am not a wrench freak, prefer to drive the car rather than work on it. Something I can get a full season and 5K of street out of would be good?
Thanks

Re: Brake Pads
You could just push harder on the brake pedal. If you'd rather have a higher friction pad, I think that the Ferodo DS2500 makes a great street pad (no noise, works when cold) with the caveat that they produce copious quantities of brake dust which will coat your wheels in a few days. I just took mine off because I got sick of having dirty wheels all the time (which translates into dirty hands and clothes when changing tires).
Carbotech's Bobcat pads might be somewhere in between a stock or generic pad (even one that said "ceramic" on the box) and the Ferodo in terms of friction coefficient, and probably generate much less dust.
