Thanks, Rick! "Yakety Sax" is the tune.

Actually if your one of those people that go around the course on a bike or scooter, you could do the same using the gopro on the handlebar mount, but isn't that somewhat like preruning the course?

My favorite so far is the guy how prints out a copy of hte runways from google maps sat images, and draws the course on that.

Next time put the gopro on something with wheels (stoller, bike, wagon....) and push it around the course.

Now that's starting to smack on Unsportsmanlike ... not that it would make me any faster ... and my photo package buyers would expect a copy.

So here is how one could do a "perfect" time lapse/stop motion Course Walk ... see the Making Of vid after the main event:

Not bad John ... looks a little "flat" ... just kidding ... :D

I can't remember which of these tech studies that Pete Loney did for us allowed one to actually fly through the course.

Yeah, well the capability to do topography certainly would help when designing courses at Candlestick!

What we really need is 3D AX video's ... to get that sense of depth. A colleague has created this Quad 3D rig using ContourHD cameras ... that allows him to shoot the same scene wide and tight at the same time using different sets of lenses:

We need a permanent "sticky" Foto Funnies thread so I don't have to keep hijacking other threads!

Since when has Jason U taken up golf? Seen here coaching Robert E.

I told the kid he was the doppelganger for a friend of mine... No reaction... Then I told him Jason was a big deal in the video game industry. Instant interest.

Can you ask your colleague what he does about wind noise with the ContourHD cameras? I used my new one at the last event and the wind noise was HORRIBLE. I'm thinking of returning it for that reason alone.

That's why I choose the GoPro HD Hero ... but in fact it's sound has been terrible also, while Henry's ContourHD IN A Bunny Suit has the best AX sound I've ever heard ... perfect tire and engine sounds and nothing else. I've got to get me a little vermin that I can skin and stuff with our GoPro.

Jon's is not furry enough to be effective in cutting down wind noise:

Typically on my friends pro shoots sound would be recorded separately ... different union. ;)

But Henry's set-up proves you can go the non-union route. :( (private joke between Henry and I)

Most of the quality issues I've heard with audio have to do with overmodulation, ie, the volume overwhelms the recording amp. Some kind of electrical attenuator, what used to be called a pad, would help. Maybe -20db.
