It was only the fact I saw it locked that I objected to, regards opening a second thread. I agree there should not be a second thread when the first is still active. I don't believe that was the case here.

Regards alternate event sites: Google Earth used to show containers on our old event site at Norton. It now shows it clear. Dunno how current the image is.
I think Geo may have confused Jason’s first thread on the events board with a thread on the "Club" board.
Jason’s first thread was locked last week (I think it was locked on Thursday, Sep 2).
Figured it out Doug. I had to select one thread to merge, then submit, then choose from other threads to merge with. Now you'll see the OP's first thread and it's posts, followed by OP's subsequent thread and posts, all in the new thread and thus the old one is gone but not its posts (which were only 2: OP, and Lily's reply).

For my 2 cents I think despite the long drive it would be cool to run at Norton. Sort of historic, roots of club racing type activity. If we don't have a September event it isn't the end of the world, after all we picked up the divisional which counted as two events. Sort of surprised we schedule an event for the same month as nationals given all the key people that make the trek to complete and then try to come home and run. Wouldn't this be the 3rd event this year the e-board would either be the sponsor or picking up the lions share of the work?

If the event does or doesn't happen, still a big box of kudo's goes to the leadership team for even working the issue to try and make it happen.

If the Sept. event is not happening, there's a San Diego event this Saturday. I might try CSP and throw my NT-01s on the car for the occasion. Of course, I'll be there on the 25th too if it happens for CSCC.

The Nationals were a blast!!! Thursday, I was clinging to the last trophy spot (7th) in CSP with Bill's car, then fell to 9th on Fri. (arrgh!). Bill was off his usual blistering pace the first day (5th spot), but made an amazing charge on Day Two to claim 3rd. Will recount experiences in a future R&T feature, where I can document numerous excuses for my sucky performance!!!!

We are very close to making an announcement concerning the September event. Should know by tomorrow morning. Right now, it's looking good but not a done deal yet.
