Re: Earthquake
2 miles SW of Chino Hills, magnitude 5.6
Really shook here; Shaking, then a loud boom, the harder shaking, probably 20 seconds or so.

Re: Earthquake
Felt it too, though not as much as Bob.

Oversteer is better than understeer because you don't see the tree you're hitting.

5.6 at chino hills
it's very entertaining at 21 floors up..
well, the shaking was so-so, but all the women freaking out, running around, screaming, is really entertaining.

Re: Earthquake
Same here. Elevators went into "safety mode". Good thing I exercise. Lots of people are gonna be huffing and puffing. Imagine those on the 34th floorJeff Shyu wrote:oh, this is pure BULLCOCKY!

I'm a mile closer to the epicenter than Seb's house; where's his workplace? I wouldn't really want to be closer.

Re: Earthquake
Seb and Shauna live about a mile east of me. This is the first quake I've felt since we moved in '99.
27 aftershocks; Kate Hutton of CalTech says it was a 5.4, so back down from 5.8.

Shook pretty good in Newport. Good enough for my assistant to bolt.
Now our clerk is a college student from out of state, this will be her first. We'll see if she shows up for work in about 10 mins.

Re: Earthquake
Go to Google Earth and enter these co-ordinates: 33.955°N, 117.765°W. That's the epicenter which is just east of Sleepy Hollow in Carbon Canyon.

Re: Earthquake
My office is right across the chino basin from chino hills (near the Corona Airport). It was pretty strong, but not enough to knock stuff of shelves.Mako Koiwai wrote:Must have been strongest for Seb? How was it?
The ladies screaming and running around was pretty funny though.

What about the Robertsons? Anyone heard from them? They live in Chino Hills. Would hate to have anything fall on one of the corvettes
