Reminder: Committee Meeting (Wed 10/20/2010)
Reminder: that this month's committee meeting will be live in person at the usual location (see Solo2.com Calendar for directions) at Coco's in Covina on Azusa Blvd. And for our members this is the Election night for our Executive Board. Feel free to throw your hat in the ring by coming out to the meeting. The votes will be tallied and winner announced at the meeting. The final meeting of the year (2010) in November will be conference call again, as there is no meeting in December due to the holidays and year-end break.
Also Clubs, if you have new reps for 2011, please let me know so I may update the contacts page.
Thanks

Hmm... who's your backup rep? We're voting on officers, so we should strive for 100% rep coverage.Rick Brown wrote:At this point, looks like I will not make this one.

As Equipment manager (is that on the E-Board?) If so would that disqualify Eric?Eric Clements wrote:I can be there.Mike Simanyi wrote:Hmm... who's your backup rep? We're voting on officers, so we should strive for 100% rep coverage.

If I recall correctly, only the three officers cannot be club reps.Giovanni Jaramillo wrote:As Equipment manager (is that on the E-Board?) If that were the case then I could be substitute but was told that I'm on Special Activity Committee of the E-Board along with Equipment Managers thus cannot vote for my club.KJ Christopher wrote:If I recall correctly, only the three officers cannot be club reps.

Re: Reminder: Committee Meeting (Wed 10/20/2010)
Gio, I think we can keep this simple. Eric has no effect on memberships, which directly affect the voting base. You do. It makes sense that our Membership Chair shouldn't play a role in the club votes due to the potential conflict of interest.
Per our Supp Regs, 1.5.3.5 states Club Representatives may not be on the Executive Board. 1.6 defines the Executive Board as the current Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, Chairmen of existing Sub-Committees, the past Chairman, and any Special Activity Chairmen. I don't see the definition of Special Activity Chairmen anywhere in section 1, but my guess is Membership Chair should fall into that group.
Eric seems like he should be fine as the alternate.

I fall under chairmen of Special Activity Chairmen. Equipment managers do not. So looks like we're all good assuming Eric can make it to the meeting on Wed.Mike Simanyi wrote:Gio, I think we can keep this simple. Gio,
Address and Time? Don't tell me to see the calendar since it is talking about conference call yada yada
Thanks.
==============
CSCC Solo Committee Meeting
Committee Meetings will be held via teleconference call. Face-to-face meetings or town-hall style meetings are TBD by the Executive Board and will be announced ahead of time.
Start times for conference call are approx 7:00-7:30pm on the 3rd Wed of each month (except December where there is no committee meeting due to the holidays).
Solo Committee (i.e. Club Reps) and Executive Board (Chair, Vice-chair, Treasurer, etc...) members are expected to attend. For general members, if you have any questions to ask the Committee/E-Board, please submit them to your club rep prior to the meeting via e-mail or in person.
EDIT: 09/24/2010 - This meeting will be held in person, face-to-face at our usual location of Coco's Restaurant in Covina (on Azusa Ave.) for elections. Election meeting where votes will be taken and tallied for all E-Board positions.

Re: Reminder: Committee Meeting (Wed 10/20/2010)
Wow, for once Gio might be right:
"1.5.3.5 CONFLICT OF INTEREST: Club Representatives may not be on the Executive Board.
1.6 EXECUTIVE BOARD: The Executive Board includes the current Chairmen,Treasurer, Secretary, and Chairmen of the existing Sub-Committees. It also
includes the past CSCC Regional SOLO Committee Chairman and any Special Activity Chairmen as recognized by the current CSCC Regional SOLO Chairman."
Even if Equipment Manager (as Eric is listed) isn't a 'Special Activity Chairmen', Divisional Chairman (as Eric is also listed) is. But then so is George S. As CYA, I suggest you hold a special vote at the beginning of the meeting acknowleding Eric as the delgate, despite other confilcts, for PSCC for the evening.

Count me out for now, sorry.
I just found out I won't be able to leave work by 5PM. Can someone else please take notes for me?

So sorry guys, I feel really bad about this last minute stuff. The other option is if someone can record the meeting (iPhone has a voice recorder), that person could send it to me and I'll transcribe it.

Don't agree. Equip mgr is not a chair of anything. The Divisional is over, so that position no longer exists and we haven't set next year's yet.Jayson Woodruff wrote:Wow, for once Gio might be right:

CYA for what? A recount? A law suit? A Supreme Court challenge? Sometimes some of you take what we do waaaaaaaaay too seriously.
