Renee Angel in the Hospital (Again)

Post by Lisa Severy »

Renee asked me to post something about her accident. She had a bad fall down stairs at her house and broke a part of her pelvis (hairline fracture). This fracture cannot be repaired except by Nature and Time. She is in a lot of pain, but doing better. She is currently at Chino Valley Medical Center/hospital in Chino (Walnut just off of Central) but will be transferred to Plott Nursing Home (rehab)in Ontario tomorrow (Monday). She is understandably bored and would appreciate calls from her friends and possibly visitors (call first, please). I visited her yesterday and she is in pretty good spirits and was vowing that this injury will not keep her down long! The address/main phone number at Chino Valley is:
5451 Walnut ave
Chino, CA 91710
(909) 464-8781

Plott Nursing Home
800 E. 5th St., Room 224C
Ontario, CA 91764

Phone: (909) 984-1620 or (909) 984-1182

On the plus side, Renee is one of the toughest people I know. So that means she'll kick anything in the arse including this. The down side is she has to. I'm so sorry to hear this.

Have a speedy recovery, Renee. We're all with you. Need something - just ask.

I think for Renee, this could present the challenge of a lifetime. ;) I kid. I kid. Wish you all the best, Renee. And yes, don't try to overdo it and you'll get there faster. Just like in autocross. :D

Talked with Renee this morning and she is being returned to Chino Valley Medical Center for re-evaluation on her open sore on her leg. The Nursing Home would not take her without this evaluation. Don't know where she is going to end up, but will keep you posted per Lisa Severy's request of me. Jo Ann

Just had a nice long talk with Renee. She didn't answer when I got connected but she called me back. She's in pain and talking to her takes her mind off of it. Let's flood her with Best Wishes! :gpower: She IS our region's God Mother!

I just spoke with Renee. She thanks everyone for the posts, well-wishes, calls and Birthday greetings, and she looks forward to getting on the computer to see everything in person. I like her attitude!

Karl, she was really touched by your post.

We went to see Renee last night, had to chase her around town as she was transferred just a few mins before we got to Chino Valley.
She is here now:

Kindred Hospital - Ontario
550 N monterey ave
Ontario, CA 91764
(909) 391-0333

She is in pretty good spirits, and feisty as ever, especially for someone that's been in a hospital bed for a week. The Docs say she'll be in for 6-8 weeks, she says she'll be outta there in 2-3...I'm inclined to believe her. I have absolutely no fear that the big bad medical bureaucracy will get the best of her, she knows exactly how to make sure her needs are met!

Get well soon Renee. :heyes:

Renee is tough so I am guessing that she will be out of there in no time. I really hope she does. Get well soon Renee!

Talked to Renee this morning...She is feeling pretty good! She got out of bed and walked the halls this AM. She says the pain is getting better. She and I are going to have walker races soon. Will continue to update as needed.

Hi Renee,

You'll do great recovering. My 91 year old Grandmother broke her hip and she's walking fine. You met my Grandparents at the races before.

Is the Crippler in the Electro Solo class or XP? Is the SCCA mandating full visor helmets? I presume that like with karts, one doesn't need a seatbelt? :o

(How do they know the Crippler goes 60 mph? Was anyone crazy enough to take it up to that speed!?)
