THIS on the other hand, summed up my experience of the wall of cones after the finish line. Hahahaha.

Here are my Photos from SUNDAY'S Race: http://public.fotki.com/makofoto/2010-a ... age12.html

(Practice photos got mixed up ... having to re-upload them.)

Remember that I can correct how light/dark the shots are. I can enhance Sharpness somewhat. I can enlarge the smallish car in the distance. But some of the shots are motion blurred because I might have been using some slower shutter speeds. If there is a question about a certain shot, just ask me.

Lots of boring shots since we were stuck shooting from the same area for most of the day ... because we were running four drivers through two cars in all five run groups.

When I was busy a couple of folks helped take shots ... but they didn't always snap at the best moment, not that I always do either. :)

Haha, The ones on the right are definatly in x-ed out boxes. (don't ask me why I pay attention to the weirdest things while course walking)

The Berry family has shown that's a good way to end up with a broken thumb. ;)

I could have broken a thumb if I was going fast enough. ;) I caught him at the big sweeper and was following him right before the finish when I was clip boarded by Ron T.

Not exactly, Seb had to circle around it a few times to get the workers to notice the problem..

And way before Seb circled back around I had informed the folks in the CTV who radioed the guys in that corner. Somehow they didn't think anything was wrong with it.

Did we have a driver's meeting? I think talking about how to properly work course during the driver's meeting helps the quality of course working during the event. I know it's not strictly necessary, but it is helpful for the new folks. It is also helpful when the radio person is experienced and invested in doing a good job as "corner captain".

It would not be the first time someone stopped for a cone in an x-ed out box and had the course workers not believe them... Ask me how I know ;)

Wrong Lily, I called it into the corner radio worker and had it fixed in like 2 cars from when you came in....

"they" as in those working that section. Somehow it wasn't fixed until Seb had to drive back to the spot and point it out to the course worker, long after you had called it in. Maybe someone put them back after it was fixed

Leonard, Lisa, and I gave a VERY thorough safety talk in the morning.

There were A LOT of things going on that run/work group.

It's not a good excuse, but we had a lot of new people working course.

Nicole: there were flags. they weren't using them right. several gra & other club members had to go out, baby sit, & train the new ppl. the radio guy in that 3rd section wasn't very experienced; didn't help that it was almost all new people for the last half of the course until our other members came out to help.

Seb: sorry, I didn't see those extra cones even though I was out in that area for a while that run group. i was more focused on not getting the corner workers killed because they didn't know how to properly work course.

Rita and I volunteered to work the third group hoping to get a good look at the course not knowing what we would be in for. :mrt:

I think Rita and I were the only experienced people in section 3 and 4. Radio 3 said he never worked course before so I tried to get him trained in one minute not knowing my course workers at the finish did not know where to stand. Thanks to Steve Abbott and Jack T. for stepping in! :gpower:

Looking back hind sight, work groups should be balanced and known trouble sections should be staffed with experienced workers. :ibrightdea:

Great shot Mako

I knew the finish was "different" but still under estimate the stopping distance on my first run. Then I chickend out the rest of my runs :unimpressed:

I was certain that I did another $300 damage like the last time I dead center a cone like that and distroyed the auxiliary fan (their is nothing auxiliary about it, the car overheats without it, and take out the plastic coolant expansion tank ... lol). Ya, i thought about all of those things during that 1 second
