R-compound tire care

At yesterday's race I noticed a couple of people using what looked like curry combs on there R-comps to scrap of road scum. Was wondering if anyone can tell me more about this, if in fact it is a curry comb but tooth pattern, coat density is best?

Yes the steel spiral curry combs. I'm not sure how many rings are used depending on slick type. Dot vs. race.

I bought one from Steve Coe of C2 Racers when I was running in AS.
I can bring mine for you to try out or you can check the c2racers.com website and get one for yourself. Lots of other interesting stuff too.

BTW, the correct term is OPR. Other People's Rubber.

That's FPR. Fragments Paper Rock which can combine with OPR to create OPRWFPR. Very technical acronym.
