Need a blingie ricer toy store

Post by Steve Ekstrand »

I need to find a carb legal short intake for an EF Honda today. As cheap as possible, to smog my car. The plan was to do that today, I have the one day moving permit, thought I had one lined up, but didn't happen.

Now that super auto crap closed, where do you go to buy ricer bling boltons other than the Internet?

I'm in Pasadena, so San Gabriel valley would be best, but I'm desperate.

Many of the K&N FIPK kits for the Honda are CARB legal, and should be easy to find.

being off-road use only makes it a perfect candidate for the whistling exhaust tip.

What about Pit Crew Motorsports in SGV and
DTM Autohaus in El Money?

I gave up on getting it done today and went down to AAA and got another one day move permit for Thursday, the next day I have time to take it to a test only station. Ordered a K&N FIPK off of Amazon that will be here Tuesday (it is legal for my app). $129.29 delivered two day UPS. Seemed like a decent deal. I think I may have a stock one somewhere in my pile of crap, er parts. But I've relocated the battery and stuff so not sure it still fits. And they are usually harder to R&R than a one screw short ram... So, Tuesday will work. Just a pain in a half getting a permit one day at a time. I don't qualify for the 60-day permit because it hasn't been registered since 2008. DMV late fees were $411 so this is becoming an expensive proposition... :(

Thanks for the help and ideas. I tried a couple of places and they all could get it in a couple of days (for $40 more). Only one in stock locally I found was the Matrix short ram, which doesn't appear to have a CARB EO Number. Too bad. Its CHEAP!
