Recently I got a tubular manifold which supposed to give me better response / less lag.
The problem is that this manifold requires me to clock the turbo differently.
I loosen up the bolts and tried to rotate the end of the turbo. In the intake side the rotation was easy but in the exhaust side it seems that the middle part of the turbo has been fused with the exhaust housing.
I soaked the connecting area in liquid wrench for a couple of days now but w/o any luck.
Yesterday I put the bolts back in (just to make sure the turbo won’t separate in two pieces - left them super loose though) and tried slightly hitting it with a mallet…
No luck there too.
I tried using a heat gun to warm up and expand the metal – still didn’t work.
Does anyone have a better idea?
Thanks,
Chris
PS What I “love” (been sarcastic that’s a hate right there) when I work on the car is that every project takes 5 times more due to all these unexpected (nowadays expected) issues which become a new side projects themselves…
