Re: New Dodge Charger takes on General Lee
I have to say I have never driven a General Lee class charger, but did street race both a Road Runner and GTX, both were much lower, had much more tire. At the same time props to 40 years of technology advance, at 10 X the price. I have driven the new chargers and think the old one would be more fun, albeit not as a daily driver. Still fun comparison. Wonder which one is worth more at a Barrett's auction.
Thanks for posting. Did anyone recognize the venue?

I quick lookup on an inflation calculator says that 6x of that is due to money value. So call it 5x and now you're paying 2x for a car that's better in almost every possible way - power, handling, fuel economy, braking, emissions, safety, reliability, longevity, and every measure of comfort/convenience/luxury. Seems like a bargain!Arthur Grant wrote:At the same time props to 40 years of technology advance, at 10 X the price

Looks interesting wish I could watch all of it. I can see the 1st burnout, then the cars leaving the line from behind and then it hangs. I've tried Firefox and IE. Same problem with both. It shrinks it to the top left with three other video options. Clicking the replay expands and then contracts to that corner again. None of the three videos below it will play either.
Oh well.
Oh well.

Well I did say there was progress. I guess I don't don't really care for the box. So far as I am concerned the Mustang has the best retro, the Camaro is good (would have liked to see a Trans-Am), and the Dodge is a distant thrid. In the day I thought the Dodge was a much nicer car, especially the GTX. Both the Challenger and the Charger come off boxy.
Still your right impressive performance, especially against the fuel economy

if they edited that video, they could make it look like the two cars were in a pro solo-ish course, hee hee.
Craig, try this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RBM32Pp ... tube_gdata - better quality, too.
I liked the colors of the cars

The charger doesn't have a CB antenna. FAIL
