We're getting closer and closer rolling on this Road to Lincoln--
where are all the Hotel, Flight and Rental deals at?
I've never been to Nebraska and was wondering if anyone could share some pointers on where to save money and what hotels (and people) to stay away from!
Stay in a hotel on the track side of town. You don't want to have to drive all the way down the high street to get to your hotel.
Last year I stayed in the cheapest place I could find (< $50 a night). It received a Yelp rating of "Disgusting". It was alright though - Shaun and I survived, but that was probably because we both brought ear plugs and neither of us are disgusting pigs.
I would also like to get some ballpark numbers re the cost of the transporter, airfare, car rental, lodging, etc. from folks that have been there. Also would like to know what day the transporter gets there and leaves (based on last years experience). Obviously I'm thinking about going this year, but the devil is in the details. No such thing as too much info.

Although there are a couple of steep climbs, the 15 - 70 - 76 route sure is purdy. Definitely the preferred route if you can make the climbs.
I've never done the 15 -80, but I hear it's quite boring. :mrt:

I'm going scenic. The drive there should be an enjoyable part of the experience.
