Looking for a Cheap or Free rowboat

Post by Cam Correa »

I know its off topic for this site but thought it might be worth a shot.

If any of you know of a little row boat someone wants to get rid of in my area, let me know, I want it small enough to fit in the back of a Ford Ranger pick up truck.

check out craigs list.

Have to ask, what do you plan to use it for?

lol.

When I saw the post I instantly thought of Scott Peterson. Just so you know, most people on this forum will rat you out for a free practice entry

I've been searching CL for a couple of days now & thought maybe it was worth a try just to see if maybe.... Just Maybe... there might be someone with a small boat taking up space & wanting to get rid of it?

I plan to use it for some of my small local to me fishing holes.
Times are tough & driving all the way up to the lake with my bass boat is not such a great option anymore especially with the price of diesel, so I figure theres a few closer places that do allow boats for FREE on the water, but they just don't allow gas motors on their waters.
I happen to have an extra battery powered trolling motor & would just mount it on the boat.
I want something just big enough for my son & I yet small enough to fit in the back of a Ford Ranger pick up truck.

This way I can save my Money for more AX practice & race days.

Christmas eve he murdered his wife, used a small used fishing boat he had bought to dump her body in the estuary up in the bay area.

Small aluminun will likely be your best bet cost wise. An inflateable will be more expensive but nice, and wouldn't take up as much space when not in use.

That would been about perfect!
He had 4 & they're all gone.. :(
One guy bought them all, what did you put in the search?
I never saw that one & have been looking for a few days...
I've pretty much been putting in row boat in the search.

Thanks for the link though.

Just go under boat and scroll through

a sabot is actually a sail boat, but also doubles as a row boat or dinghy.

Thanks for the additional link, But the fact that a inflatable when deflated takes basically no space, I think thats what I'm gonna go for..

See you next weekend & hopefully we can get to know each other a bit better next time.
You in person & on-line seem very cool. ( For a Chevy guy. LOL! )
Thanks again.

It actually has3 inflatable bench seats but I doubt I'll ever use the 3rd one, It'll be kept more as a spare.

for calm small pond/lake fishing such as Irvine lake that will be really good. Will also work well for inside Newport back bay, around docks and inside Dana Point harbor. Where you don't want to try is crossing any large bodies of water or outside of harbors. Since you have a bass boat you are familiar with the limitations of electric motors. I think for what your going to use it for it will be fabulous. If you got it for less the $150 you got a great bargin. The three boats I show are my progression. Started with the green one, but wanted a solid not air floor. The second has a wood slat floor and rolls up nice for carrying on my 25 foot sailboat, but needed something bigger when I got the German Shepherds, and wanted a better lobster fishing platform which is how I ended up with the Newport Vessels 11'. Besides the solid floor, I like being able to sit on the side, and have the 8hp.

The little green one was great for fishing trout, the yellow one for working bass drift fishing the bridge on PCH in Newport Harbor. Bass are bass and its fun to fish them.
