F/S 2000 miata (temecula) $4000 firm, $3500 w/stock wheels!
**PRICE REDUCED!!!** Additionally, would be willing to sell the car w/factory wheels only for $500 less than listed.
Hey everyone!
To start, here are the specs on the car:
2000 Mazda Miata touring/convenience pack
179k miles
Ps/pb/pdl/pm/AC (broken)/cruise
****** For photos and historical records, visit http://web.me.com/darionscard" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; **********
Upgraded to sport package specs:
OEM front tower brace
OEM helical LSD
Koni yellows
15x6 SSR type Cs (weigh 9lbs each).
Currently sitting on 195/50/15 Bridgestone RE11s with 50% tread
additional mods include:
Washable air filter element from Mazda Competition parts (forget the exact vendor)
NGK wires (recently tested, all way below ohm tolerance)
hawk HP+ pads all around
AWP sway bar brackets
Suspension Techniques front sway bar
Lightweight custom axle-back exhaust (stock is 25 lbs, this unit is 11.4)
Aiwa Cd head unit with auxiliary mini jack for iPod/etc
Fog lamps
A little history on the car:
Bought it in 2004 with 68k, did lots of commuting from sylmar to LA and eventually Sylmar to Pasadena. Also drove it in canyons and auto crossed it with success in the SK class. Always used Mazda OEM parts thanks to discovering their motorsport parts program.
Last year as the odometer reached 168k, I decided to replace the engine to prolong the car's life. I purchased a running long block off of Casey Brier (~50k) and installed it with all OEM parts (I can mail you all of the purchase orders if you would like to see them). Some of these parts include a new clutch, pilot bearing, front wheel bearings, front/rear main seals, thermostat, timing belt, water pump, shift insulator boot and related shifter pieces. This engine has only seen Mobil 1 since installation.
For the last year the car had the P0421 CEL, turns out it was 2 bad cats and a coil pack in a pear tree. I replaced them in the last month and with those repairs, some fresh plugs, and a bit of patience, it's running like a champ.
I have many extra replacement parts I didn't get to install when I did the motor due to time constraints, and have most stock parts to put the car back if desired (original axle back muffler, original 14x6 wheels). I also have the rear sway bar that came in the ST kit although it isn't installed. I even have a factory Emerald Green Mica rear lip spoiler with the upgraded trunk springs new in the box.
Known problems:
The Synchro for 5th gear is blown from missing 3rd gear too much. The transmission functions totally normally otherwise. if you rev match it will shift into 5th without grinding. I have always used synthetic in the trans and the diff since I got the car (Redline MT90 and 75w90). I have had no other problems shifting in other gears.
The car has also taken cosmetic damage from a parking lot accident when someone backed into me, breaking one of the headlight mounts. Strangely the headlight will stay put even without the mount. There is a dent in the rear right quarter panel that took the taillight lens out. I replaced the lense but didn't get the bodywork done. Of course there are scratches here and there as well but those are the major points.
The top is in good shape, has a glass rear window. One small pinhole on the drivers side but it doesn't let in any water. The rubber weatherstripping around the side windows do leak in heavy rain.

Redline MT-90 friction plus lube will often take care of many Miata syncro problems

Damn you people with your cheap NB's, tempting me!
Good luck with the sale - that's quite the bargain for someone.

'90-'02 all have torque sensing diffs made by Torsen. '03-05 have torque sensing (not clutch type) diffs with a different design, made by Tochigi-Fuji, which have more of a tendency for bits to break off.Dan Shaw wrote:OEM helical LSD ('01 + have clutch type diffs)

Bump....I'd be willing to put the stock wheels on to knock off 500 and I'll keep the SSRs, just a thought.

Re: F/S 2000 miata (temecula) $4000 firm
Bump, price drop!! This is about as low as I'm willing to go. The offer to sell the car with just the stock wheels for 500 less still stands as well, meaning you could get this car with the stock wheels for $3500!!! With the extras, it's a steal!

No disrespect to you Eric, just learned things can happen in transition I do hope it goes smoothly!
