E-Z UP Sale

Post by Rick Brown »

For those that missed the Temecula sale, here's the one in Colton on Saturday Nov 5.

In the past, this one has a lot more to choose from than what I saw at Temecula.

FWIW,

I currently use a "First Up" from Walmart which IMHO is a much better canopy than the EZ Ups. Cheaper too ($95 for 10x10). I've had EZ UPs and I couldn't put them up/down by myself. No problem with the Walmart one. Also the First Up has a wind slot at the peak so it's not quite as likely to become a kite. Be careful about EZ Up dimensions - 10x10 means at the feet, not the canvas size, which is 8x8. Just my 2 cents worth.

Never had an issue with putting up or down an EZ Up, either the small Dome one I have (the only one that's 10x10 at feet and 8x8 at top, the others have straight legs and 10x10 is 10x10) or the ones we have for CSCC Solo (Express II). A little easier with help, but not a big deal to me.

We got a budget level EZ-Up "Pagoda" from K-Mart, 10x10 footprint with a 13x13 overhanging canopy. It also has a vent halfway up. I think it was around $120. We're using it as a sun shade on the back door to the patio -- the fabric definitely does not hold up in the sun. It has gotten brittle and there is a visible webwork of "cracks" you can see light through when you're looking towards the sun.

I don't know if the higher end EX-Ups are any better for extended use. I'm sure they use sturdier fabric, but they all seem to have an exclusion in the warranty for extended use.
