Class for a Modified E30

Post by James McKinnell »

Dear All,

Thank you for allowing me to run with you guys during tomorrows Solo practice. I previously drove a stock mini cooper S in the Alabama SCCA. I've moved to LA and I'm looking forward to getting some seat time.

I will be driving a car that is new to me. I do not know how to class the vehicle. I don't imagine it matters for a practice, but if I were to compete with it I would like to know how it would be classed. The car is a BMW E30, but the interior has been stripped, suspension upgraded significantly, motor stroked to 2.7 liters. I am running on street legal tires.

It is obviously not a purpose built autocross car, but I might like to try my hand at a few events.

Thanks for the advice and I look forward to driving with you guys.
