Feb 25 and 26 Course workers by PFM

Post by Aaron Bate »

NOTE: Saturday signups have now reached it's capacity. All 5 people signed up will be served.

For those of you not on the list: We MAY be able to provision additional workers for Saturday depending on availability after the 5 people on the list have been served.

Honestly we are not sure if we can do Sunday mornings (yet). Sunday afternoon should be fine. Please approach the PFM booth on Saturday and ask for Amanda, whom will be handling the scheduling of course workers for both days.

Hello everyone,

CASOC has been working with us at PFM to provide you guys with some services for the upcoming event on February 25 and 26.

We are pleased to be able to offer you a limited number of people who can cover your course worker shifts. The fee for said service would be $10 ($20 for the day) per work shift on a first come, first served basis.

How this will work is we will be forming a list of people who want us to cover their work shifts. Request should be make on this thread and will be added in the order received. Once on the list, you will have priority for a worker. We will work with CASOC schedulers to accommodate as many requests as possible. Those wanting only a single work shift covered can check with us on site and we may be able to accommodate you.

We will getting set up between 8:15 to 8:30 AM on the day of the event. If you have requested a worker, please stop by and pay the fee prior to your shift.

Thank you,

Aaron Bate

Ah, thought that might be it, but couldn't make the acronym work.

I am only going to be there Sunday, but would gladly hire a fine PFM worker.

The answer to your question Art is yes. Just make arrangements directly with the PFM guys for Sunday or if you only want one work session covered on Saturday. The reason we are taking reservations for Saturday is so we can evenly distribute those folks among the work groups so we can offer the service to as many folks as possible.

How early will they be there. Since I run first work second? Sort of a new twist on the Starving College Student Mover theme from back in the day.

Afternoon shifts are usually easier for us to get volunteers. We're usually sleep deprived from working in the shop til the wee hours of the morning.

We are still in progress of filling out our list of available volunteers for both days. We should have a better idea of what we can offer by this weekend.

You can always stop by our booth on Saturday and we will see what we can work out for the Sunday event.

Oh, .. Yeah right, that's why collage kids have a hard time getting up in the morning. And I used to study too hard on the weekends and miss my Monday classes while I slept it off.

I can vouch for FSAE kids not being your typical "collage" kids. I've spent way too many friday nights standing in front of a lathe....until monday.

I'm not quite clear how this will work. I clicked the box for "make it a true test n tune" when I registered for practice and included the amount in my check to KJ. Now I'm wondering if that was what I was supposed to do and how this is related...

I'd like to get reservations for Sunday for 1 worker in group 3 (for John Stimson) and 1 worker in group 4 (for Ellen Heian). That will allow us both to drive at the event, instead of one of us having to supervise our 11-month-old while the other works and drives. Can you set that up?

Not to pile on since i thought you could only reserve Saturday, but since so many others are putting in for Sunday, I will formally add my name to the hat and commit to buy a worker on Sunday for run group 2 if available.

Saturday signup is closed now. If you still want a worker for Saturday - or would like to request one for Sunday - please approach our booth and ask for Amanda. She will be handing the scheduling of workers.

Thank you!

Thanks George. I'm supposed to be working a Mars landing rehearsal till late on Friday night. Any chance we could get the PFM crew to cover that for me too? :ibrightdea:
