Hey.......ONLY Two Weeks to Go! We're Filling UP Fast.

Post by George Schilling »

Just wanted to give you guys a heads that entries to the Pro Solo will start selling fast as the deadline approaches. Don't risk being left out. I've made that mistake much to my chagrin. Don't worry if you're new to this, you'll catch on right away. Read all about it, then click on one of the links below and get registered. DO IT NOW!

WE ALL KNOW HOW MUCH FUN IT IS TO AUTOX.............NOW TELL ME SOMETHING I DON'T KNOW!

HOW ABOUT THIS......

THE PRO SOLO FORMAT IS BY FAR THE MOST FUN YOU CAN HAVE AUTOXING!

JUST WHAT IS THIS PRO SOLO THING?

The Pro Solo format combines the best of drag racing and autox. Competitors will line up side by side and stage, just like at the drag strip. Your heart will begin to pound as you watch the count down on the timer. Once timer hits zero, you'll rev your engine and prepare for launch. Yellow, yellow, yellow, better drop the clutch, green, and you're smoking the tires trying to get the best 60' launch you can, Once at the 60', you'll split off onto mirrored autox courses and race to the finish. WOW!

EXPERIENCE DOESN'T MATTER!

Whether your new to autox or not, this is an absolute blast. I used to think regular autoxing was addicting but Pro Solo competition has made me a true addict. Since this format only comes around LOCALLY once a year, I regret missing it the first time. With the exception or that first one, I haven't missed one since.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR!

The dates are May 4, 5, & 6. Friday the 4th consists of explaining the format to new folks, making practice starts, a welcome BBQ provided free of charge where you'll meet fellow competitors and chat about your launch times, followed by two days of racing on Saturday and Sunday. All this for only $107. WOW again! Did I mention FREE FOOD?

YOU HAVE TO HURRY!

Early entry deadline is Monday, April 30, 2012. After that the price will go from $107 to $143. More importantly, this event is capacity controlled and will sell out. So please get your entry in right away. This is too much fun to miss. You can register here. For more information, check this out. For the rules governing Pro Solo, click here.

IF YOU DON'T DO ANOTHER AUTOX THIS YEAR, DON'T MISS THIS ONE! SEE YOU THERE!

I posted a link to the rules. This is the first time I've read them. They make Pro Solo sound a lot more complicated than it is. Just come out and have fun. There will be plenty of folks there to help you get acclimated.

If you have any questions, post them in this thread and we'll get you an answer.

BTW, Evo School offers a tutorial at all the ProSolos called Hole Shot, which provides a great primer on the entire ProSolo process, as well as a bunch of practice starts. I took it the first time I did a ProSolo and it made me feel really comfortable that I wasn't going to screw something up and look like an idiot. I highly recommend it for those that are doing their first ProSolo. It's only $30. Registration is here: http://tinyurl.com/7fssbhw" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If it's on THEIR tires, I'm in. If it's on MY tires, I'll take my chances. I taught John Force everything he knows.

Just a reminder to get signed up for this event early as there is an entry limit. This is one of the most popular autox event on the west coast and it fills up before you know it.

Also, I noticed that our event chairman, Tom Berry, has announced that Gary Thomason and Jeff Cawthorn will be working together to design this year's course. Anyone who's been around the autox scene for more that day or two knows who these guys are. For those of you who are new to the sport, they are two of the finest drivers the sport has to offer. I understand they've been collaborating to come up with an entirely new use of the space at El Toro and you can bet the course will be spectacular.

So here's the link. Don't delay!
