Power Steering Fluid
It looks like i'm going to replace my power steering pump due to intermittant failure in slaloms and tight zig-zags. Any thoughts on upgraded fluid?

Re: Power Steering Fluid
Good quality synthetic. I ran Amsoil in my '94. When I first got it, the pump would cavitate in slaloms leaving me with more resistance than assist. Flushed system, refilled with synth, problem gone.Steve Towers wrote:It looks like i'm going to replace my power steering pump due to intermittant failure in slaloms and tight zig-zags. Obviously I use Red Line Power Steering Fluid in the Mustang. Fixed foaming and cavitation problems. Also runs cooler.

Replaced the pump with an upgrade from Turn-One and used Royal Purple Synthetic (what I could find at the time). Problems solved. It looks like i'm going to replace my power steering pump due to intermittant failure in slaloms and tight zig-zags. Any thoughts on upgraded fluid?
