Right now we're about to abandon CST because our tires are no longer available in our 315/335 size ... and our tires are toast ... especially on CA Spdway's surface. Seems as if Kumho is no longer bringing in XS's as they run out of sizes in anticipation of the replacement tire ... but no word on when that will be available.

Finding W-I-D-E RT tires is a problem. Now WIDE RT tires come in 19 and 20"

Best solution is a FR-S for RTR next year. :D

That would be my choice. Not feasible at present, unfortunately.

I'd like to request that unlike the national office, we give a 1-yr notice on tire change rules. I don't mind changing to new tires, but I'd like the opportunity to use up what I just bought instead of trashing them. And I bought multiple sets to see what worked best. All sub-180 of course. :(

Doing so would hurt those who are building to the national rules so they can compete in national events. And of course, not doing so will hurt those who bought a bunch of tires that last a really long time. CST is an obvious option.

Bill - connect with Bob Hempy, the GRA club rep, and he can bring it up for discussion at the next meeting.

Yeah, I don't think CST is a worthwhile option, thanks. I'm just suggesting a deferred implementation. Since official notice was in July 2012, make it mandatory July 2013. I don't think that will negatively affect national types. Just give us adequate time to switch over efficiently.
