Greddy Full Exhaust a problem?

Post by Steve Bunnell »

Hey guys, question for you:

My friend wants to come out and race around some cones with us. He tells me he has a 2005 Subaru Sti Stage 2 with Greddy full exhaust, but he read somewhere that this exhaust may not be allowed, or something? Does anyone here know if this exhaust system would be a problem on race day? Or practice day? Or any day at the solo track?

Thanks all! Happy Halloween! :gpower:

From the flyer: "Closed exhaust - 100db @ 50' noise standard." Beyond that, on a race day it depends on what class. On a practice, if it is excessively loud the event staff may ask that something be done to lower it. We have test equipment, but don't generally set it up for local events.

This is an inclusive club. Everyone is encouraged to come out and have fun. Even if he were slightly out of compliance, he likely wouldn't have any issue with other competitors on a regional level until he started winning. PS, I think Tristan is looking for some competition. ;) I think his exhaust would be STU legal.

But the boosted turbo isn't. Likely CST is his best bet.

He might have hear he'd have sound problems in San Diego.
