El Toro Pro Hotel Recommendations?

Post by Annie Bauer »

Hey SoCal Peeps!

Soooooo..... some of us from the great white north are planning to make the trek down for the Pro - any recommendations for hotels that don't happen to be right on the train tracks? :D

Non-smoking and near the site would be ideal...

Let me know!

Use Priceline and 3 Stars we always get a very nice place close by. But the MOST convenient is the La Quinta practically outside the El Toro gate: http://tinyurl.com/b4jhyfo" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I guess you want a room away from the rail road track side of the building

If you click on the CSCC Solo link in the upper left corner, it takes you to the Solo2 site.
Click the Event Locations icon and it takes you to the event site maps.
Scroll down to the El Toro map and right above it is a text link to the amenities around El Toro.
That map shows the locations of several hotels close to El Toro as well as eateries, gas, etc.
Pick what works for you and give them a call.

That map is missing my favorite hotel when at El Toro, the Candlewood Suites behind the Kaiser hospital (When I foot the bill).

If you like a European flavor boutique hotel, with a fabulous cook to order breakfast (INCLUDED!), look at the Ayers hotel on El Toro road. This is where AMCI puts employees when we do events at El Toro, and it's only a 15 min drive from the site. http://www.ayreshotels.com/orange-count ... woods.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The Candlewood Suites has beds, no trains and a Starbucks between it and the event site.

Marshall and I stayed at the Double Tree one year because he had Hilton Honors points. It was nice and had a easy on ramp to the 133 to get to the event site (or a couple side streets to get to the previously mentioned Starbucks).
