Great Course, Mike!

Post by KJ Christopher »

Thanks to Mike Simanyi for coming out of retirement to put together a great course this weekend. A quick look over the PAX results show the top 31 covering a 2 second spread, with 6th through 31st all in a one second band. Wish I had been able to drive it in Sunday's configuration.

Big mix of cars in the top 31 vehicles:
1984 Van Diemen FF RF 84
1991 Honda Civic Si
2006 Mitsubishi Evo IX RS
2006 Honda S2000
1991 Honda Civic
1993 BMW 325i
1999 Mazda 10AE Miata
2003 Nissan 350Z
1995 BMW M3
1989 Honda Civic Si
1984 Van Diemen FF RF 84
2001 CRG Honda
2006 Mazda MX5
CRG Kart
1989 Honda Civic Si
Mazda Miata
2009 Pontiac Solstice
1989 Honda Civic
2006 Mitsubishi Evo IX
2013 Scion FRS
2001 CRG Honda
2012 Mini S
1966 Austin Sprite
RenSpeed Kart
2013 Scion FR-S
1991 Honda Civic Si
1995 BMW M3

+1. I had a blast! And after my four runs were done I still felt like I could've dropped more time, which to me is a sign of a great course.

It was a great course. I had fun every run and was amazed that it wasn't what is becoming a fairly standard configuration on the northern edge of the site.

Agreed! Great course!! I can now say that I used your course to transition to a left-foot-braker. Too bad my car went into limp mode during my second x-run and I improved 1.1 sec from the competition runs...go figure, I go faster and the car quits! However the good news is that it was only the intake disconnecting from the throttle body...dough!

Agreed. Great job, Mike! I found this course much more challenging than met the eye when I walked it, and my runs reflect that. :x The course was great fun, though, even though it was very tough. Always a pleasure to drive your courses, Mike.

I thought our last one, courtesy of the Bjoins and Ken was better, ie. I PAX'ed much better! Haha

I loved both of them and think it's a shame we don't get to use them over again. Mike's made great use of space. I thought it would be short after seeing how large the paddock was.

For the newer drivers. Imagine we use to have the entire Lot 12 for our courses and the paddock was where the go-kart track is

yeah i remember someone mentioning that before. i unfortunately was never able to run those larger courses.

but i definitely enjoyed the practice and sunday courses. there is something about simanyi courses that make them one of the best to run.

i hope he continues to make courses in the future.
i mean if jordan can come out of retirement once. why can't simanyi? lol

Thanks everyone. Saturday was a bit too simple, but Sunday's course... well, I'm proud of it. I'm glad so many people had fun and enjoyed the challenges.

KUDOS MIKE!

for my 1st time back driving in over 2 years, I have to say this was the best course I have driven in a long time. I had a great time even though I could not finish my 3 runs. I am still hurting. Can't wait until next time!
