Getting gas struts/gas spring damper modified?

Post by Q V »

Does anyone know a local place that can lower the pressure of a tiny gas strut/gas spring damper?

If you know a place that sells these types of dampers, please also suggest - I have found a couple online ones & waiting on a quote from them; hoping to find something local

This damper currently supports something like 100-200lbs. I need it to just support 20lbs.

Have you calculated in the added weight of the hood ornament?

This one's for another project, but thanks for reminding me - a hood damper would be pretty sweet, too!

Thanks Bobby, I checked and they don't quite have the right specs.

I thinkI may have found something that may work - custom spec off Stabilus site. As long as it's not ridiculous expensive, I should be good.
