To keep things going and before somebody else beats me to it, candidate for UWD (also in reference to Craig posting a pic of that six-wheel truck):

So Fantastic! ... Goodyear stopped supporting tires for it ... but didn't they change the rules anyway.
Re: SCNAX CUP VIII 2013!
Judging by the comments on this thread I'm betting the answer is "no" but, Do you have to be a SCNAX member to participate in the SCNAX Cup?

You guys are making it too complex. I'm interested. Don't have a team. Don't know my PAX stuff. These days I run STS with my '95 Miata. What's the cost. And what venue is being used?

Re: SCNAX CUP VIII 2013- POST UP YOUR TEAM!!!
Hey guys,
My fiancee and I want to come up from San Diego for the SCNAX cup (she's SCNAX club rep in San Diego, and we're both also on the Solo Committee here) but there's a small hangup.
This year, we're co-driving other people's cars so we have no tires of our own EXCEPT for our 2001 S2K, which we want to run in the SCNAX Cup.
Issue with the S2000 is that it's mostly stock, but one significant performance mod we have, a shorter final drive, was put in by the previous owner and bumps us all the way into SSM or F Prepared. It is NOT an SSM or FP car. We bought the AP1 knowing it would never be competitive and mostly for practice days and daily driving shenanigans.
Performance mods on the car: roll bar, KN intake, front sway bar, and the shorter final drive (which undoubtedly makes the car pull harder, but also forces 3rd gear more often). O, and daily-driven, one year old, bald RS3s on STR wheels. I'm guessing >150 runs.
My main reason for posting is, while we don't expect to win, we want to have a respectable showing, especially because we might split the car onto two teams among 4 other San Diego SCNAX members and don't want to drag the index down for our team, and were hoping that we'd be allowed to run the car with an STR index.
I understand if the slippery slope causes objection. We know nobody would ever know we had the shorter final drive to begin with, but wanted to be on the up and up regardless. We'll likely pass otherwise unless we can get a car or ES RTR tires lent to us, but not the end of the world. Figured I'd post on here and see if there's objection before bothering with registration.
LMK what you guys thinks! Trying to put together two teams before registration fills up!
Thanks,
Hank

Online registration open. Required for both SCNAX Cup and practice entry. SCNAX Cup still requires completion of the Cup entry form if you haven't already done so.

Re: SCNAX CUP VIII 2013- POST UP YOUR TEAM!!!
Hi Hank,
Your car is a perfect fit for CSM. Most cars in LA in the class are just like yours, some small performance mod that makes them illegal for a stock class. I know several people playing in the SCNAX cup will also be running that index with similar type cars. Look at the LA Supregs on the regular site for the index, and decide what one works best for you.
On the other hand, your probably looking at the depth of competitors in LA, with all the Nat Champions etc, that show at our typical events. Little secret... they don't typically play at this event. Can't say why, they just don't. So don't worry about how close you come to your index on a PAX basis. Most SCNAX cup competitors are not running NAT preped cars. And... the closer to top pax types they are, they still have to out drive their own personal pax, which is much harder than someone farther down the PAX listing list.

Re: SCNAX CUP VIII 2013- POST UP YOUR TEAM!!!
Craig,
Thanks for the reply! I checked out the CSCC 2013 supregs and saw the mention of CST and CSM, but it doesn't mention what's legal in those classes (unless I'm blind? I used the find function) aside from tires.
Also, I noticed that the CSM PAX is the same as SSM (page 33), so I'm not sure what the incentive is to run CSM instead of SSM. CST is obviously a bit better, but again, not sure what the rules are for these classes and how do decide which local class might be better for us. Anyway, I'm likely confused but appreciate the help.

CST (and CSM) = no rules - run what you brung.
Obviously, your car would be CST as you plan on running on street tires. CSM is R Tires.

Vehicles eligible for CSM/CST must be capable of being licensed for street use in CaliforniaMax Hayter wrote:CST (and CSM) = no rules - run what you brung.

Re: SCNAX CUP VIII 2013- POST UP YOUR TEAM!!!
We still need to figure out a team name, but I'll announce it anyway.
ACME racing and Berry Family racing are joining forces with potentially the easiest to calculate drivers index factor....in the world. man we're going to get killed!
AM/ASP/STX
I think the AM car qualifies as UWD, yeah?
