May need a replacement engine. Given I am scheduled to be laid off / early retired 15 May 2014, I am looking for a reliable motor, not an exotic that can't pass smog. I appreciate any leads.
Thanks

Retirement = time for a DIY rebuild? Pete L. Just finished rebuilding a Miata engine himself

I live in a condo, with a one car garage, and 5 cars, and 3 trailers in the family. No room for rebuild.Mako Koiwai wrote:Retirement = time for a DIY rebuild? Pete L. Just finished rebuilding a Miata engine himself

It sounds like you know exactly how to make a non existent space hold much more than it should.Arthur Grant wrote:I live in a condo, with a one car garage, and 5 cars, and 3 trailers in the family. No room for rebuild.

I feel your pain Grant. I would put a vote on building it as a project, but if it isn't in the cards...With that being said a good build can net some extra power, fuel economy, better emissions, and driveability.
The engine in my Mustang just passed smog yesterday all while making quite a bit more power than stock.

Arthur
I have a L98 engine from my car. I took it out at about 45,000 miles. It has been sitting in my garage since about 1996.

Brian, thanks. Wish we had connected about 2 weeks ago. Had mine rebuilt, going to set me back around $4,500.
