versus the usual $40 we pay for the Hilton or similar hotels through priceline.com. Some of those hotels are charging up to $12 for parking though.

Ethan West wrote:I didn't actually reserve a room yet, but I found a lower price on La Quinta's own website using a AAA discount. I'm not sure how much taxes and other fees will be, but based purely off of room prices it was $89 on Priceline and $80 on La Quinta's website.
On Priceline, they have two different ways to get a room. First is what you saw: a listing of discounted rooms, basically like Travelocity or one of those type sites. The second is where you specify the location and quality of the room you're willing to purchase, and name a price you'd be willing to pay, and it searches their database of hotels with excess inventory willing to rent a room at the price you quoted. Obviously, the prices you pay using the second method will be lower the closer you get to the date you're staying, since what the hotels are selling off is unused inventory that they're not going to get anything for.

That $89 room at LaQuinta reserved today might end up costing $30-40 if you can wait until a day or two before you're staying. Or it may not. That's the risk you take using Priceline...you get what you get for the price you bid.

Thanks for the explanation there Kurt, I was wondering how that worked. I also noticed that Priceline requires you to be 21, when I believe you only need to be 18 to rent a room. I'm 18 by the way.

Hey Tom, I'll be on site by early afternoon (assuming my flight's not late) so if you need some extra hands later in the day, let me know!

Only 4 SK people signed up so far... Certainly not making a national case that the SK classes are a draw. Come on folks, it's probably the best local event of the year.

You get as many runs as at a Practice at a minimum, plus you get to launch the car and do a burn out if you want. Launching and racing head to head with the person on a mirror coarse is awesome.

GP folks and all Prepared competitors, sign up for P1.. I'd love to have an actual Prepared class rather than have to run in the bump class.
