Friday Gate! Or SSS
Stacey can do an early or late SSS coverage on the weekend.

Too grumpy, tired, and with too many family obligations to step up to a chief's role. So I'm just looking for a way off course.

Impound.

Just let me know where else I can help.

I'm pretty good at manning the grill and even better at eating the food. How about brats and burgers this year?

The Pro Solo is coming !........ This is my mostest favoritest race of the year...... And I dont think i will be able to make it

Michelle is due at that time. (due March 22nd). and because it would require staying down there for the weekend, I have been told we cant go if the kid is not here yet.... or if she JUST delivered. so unless Christopher decides to show up a week or more early, I wont be there.

bun on the good side, I can use that weekend to start preparing for the jedi racer to be.

Let me know if you guys want to team up with Shauna and I for SSS. I was chief last year and will volunteer again this year if you don't want to. :king:

Teaming up on SSS might be good. We can be there early and late. And I can be there all day Friday.
I'm sort of trying to lay low on chief's duty, as I also have Robert duty! :mrt:

Come on... We were in SD for the tour on Jennifer's due date, just made the trip home each night. It worked out, Jessica knew to wait till the racing was over.... Of course for the rest of her life her Bday will take second place to the March tour/pro weekends - poor kid.

yeah but if she is anything like you and Jennifer, she will be at the track on her birthday and loving it! :)

The problem is, we will be well over an hour from home / hospital. if the time came and we were AT THE TRACk. it would make life a lot harder.... and I would never hear the end of it. :)

we will see. maybe he'll be a bit early and give us time to make arangments.

David's birthday is 3/19, every year it's "Do you want to have your party two weeks before or two weeks after your actual birthday?" For the first couple of years we skipped the Tour and/or Pro, but he's a big kid now, he'll get over it....or he'll resent me and the whole sport for the rest of his life. :|

But El Toro is only 15minutes (10 in a rush) from the highly acclaimed St Josephs. Look up the ratings, might change her mind.

So do you guys have a preferred motel/hotel that you like to stay at? Last year the drive turned out to be 2 hours each way and it would be much better to only make that trip once.

I'm looking for something that is cheap, close, and where my car will not be stolen :D

Ethan, you should be able to use Priceline and get a very nice hotel in the area of John Wayne Airport for a bid in the $40 range. This is about a 15 minute drive from El Toro. One that comes up frequenty is the Doubletree. There are hotels that are closer, but you'll pay more. The La Quinta is just outside the exit of El Toro. I've never stayed there but my guess is that it is probably in the $80 range.

BTW, now that you have a Miata, don't worry about it being stolen. You can leave it with the top down and the engine running and it will still be there in the morning. I say this as one who loves Miatae.

True. Who wants to look gay while fleeing the scene of a crime. It'd be like robbing a bank then running away like a girl.

The worst part about buying a Miata? Having to tell your dad you're gay.

LOL oh yes the Miata jokes... I've heard just about all of them from my Crown Vic buddies.

The La Quinta just outside the exit of El Toro would be the most convenient, I think I'll go with that.

Anyone know any way to pay less for the El Toro La Quinta?

Ethan ... I think one needs to ask for a room NOT in back by the rail road tracks.

Ask for a grainery room. They are cool and well insulated from the evil train monster (I have a 5yo).

Just tell your Crown Vic friends that you don't share their need to compensate.

I didn't actually reserve a room yet, but I found a lower price on La Quinta's own website using a AAA discount. I'm not sure how much taxes and other fees will be, but based purely off of room prices it was $89 on Priceline and $80 on La Quinta's website.
