E36 parts costs are not bad at all. They are the Mustang's of the German car community...

Not really ... there are Ford and Opel (GM) products that are more Mustang like, imo.
BMW's are a cut above ... but of course, old used cars are cheap(er) cars anywhere. The german TUV (technical inspection) is pretty tough. A friend use to borrow my mom's oem BMW wheels/tires when he took his street racer 2002 to get it inspected. It looked ridiculous with the skinny tires under those budging fender flares! (My mom was pretty upset when her BMW fell off the jackstands and one of them punched through the floor board!
