STOCK
- At this time it is the opinion of the SEB that the demand for street tires in Stock classes can best be handled by individual
Regions.
Very interesting!

Really, you think it could be a contender? Which N/A FS or Turbo GS? Aren't they heavy?Aaron Goldsmith wrote:Hmm.. wonder what kind of deal I can get on a genesis coupe..

A number of the Cobra variants over the years have had IRS, they were turds. I hear the Genesis is a camber limited porker. :mrt:Aaron Goldsmith wrote: well.. we won't know till someone tries.. but there is one fairly large advantage over the mustang..

The following rule change proposal is published here for member feedback: Add to 14.10.F.1 as follows: “Alternate software
maps which violate these restrictions may not be present during competition, regardless of activation.”

Still almost 500 pounds lighter than a Shelby...Jason Isley BS RX8 wrote: A number of the Cobra variants over the years have had IRS, they were turds. I hear the Genesis is a camber limited porker. :mrt:

Re: May 2009 Fastrack
The numbers I have seen put them less than 200lbs apart. Shelby will also potentially have twice the front camber and wider wheels.Aaron Goldsmith wrote:

Re: May 2009 Fastrack
The Genesis has a real LSD right? But 3550 lbs is a lot, how much does the Mustang weigh?
I wonder about the 2.0turbo for STX, though 3400lbs kinda sucks but it could get lighter, maybe down to WRX territory?
I wonder how much more power it can make without increased boost? I read that the Hyundai folks are already saying the 2.0t ECU will be easy to crack...

Mike Wood's Shelby came in at 3415lbs in race trim. (FS BMW 335i on the same scales/same day was 3486lbs)Sebastian Rios wrote:The Genesis has a real LSD right? But 3550 lbs is a lot, how much does the Mustang weigh?

Re: May 2009 Fastrack
Lots of posted OE numbers include a full fuel tank, and many other items not needed for Solo - like heavy wheels, exhaust, spare tire etc. Most any big car can lose 100lbs in stock, a good portion just because R comps and wheels are lighter, some can drop more.Sebastian Rios wrote:Wow! So he was able to find a couple of hundred pounds to shave off in stock? Or are my numbers just totally wrong.

I think you just can't trust the published weight of cars, my supra weighed in at 3300 pounds.. pretty good for a car that's supposed to weigh 3600.Sebastian Rios wrote:Jason Isley BS RX8 wrote: Mike Wood's Shelby came in at 3415lbs in race trim.Wow! It can go the other way as well... When we weighed the 370Z we did not find the big weight savings that were being touted.Aaron Goldsmith wrote:

I applaud those who do the stock classing, to be able to get it right the first time most of the time based on published numbers is very impressive.

Re: May 2009 Fastrack
I know this is a Solo2 board, but take a moment and look at the cars just classed in ITR. The 94-95 Mustang is now a contender to knock the BMW E36 off its throne. Those building anything other then those two cars are screwed.

Re: May 2009 Fastrack
Seems like a great car to go IT racing in. Dirt cheap and super plentiful. Probably fun in race trim. Non-M E36's are probably dirt cheap too, but I wonder about parts availability and cost.

Oh definitely not a problem for E36s. E30s on the other hand....availability would be a problem as they're much older.Steve Ekstrand wrote:Non-M E36's are probably dirt cheap too, but I wonder about parts availability and cost.
