Toyota Speedway at Irwindale
This event is a closed to to the public Car Show with gate fees. All workers do not have to pay to enter or pay to run.
Your name will be on a list at the entrance.
Auto-X Workers can ride with any other workers. You may not get as many runs if you ride (not sure). Some Workers will be instructors.
Instructors are OK to take rides or give rides but all Auto-x people (who are not workers) need to clear the gate and pay a fee.
If you bring an extra worker/ helper who will not drive we may make an exception (they will need to work grid or staging when not riding).
Please tell me before the day of the event if you want a helper / rider not driver.
Food is available at the sight but it is kind of expensive. Think about bringing your lunch.
I would like it if we did not break for lunch so all worker get a good amount of runs.
Please understand that the folks that pay don't work and they are supposed to have fun.

Just got in from a full day of practice and helping with the event at Irwindale. My hat's off to Doug for stepping up and doing a most steller job today. From what I understand this event got dumped on him in a big way, and I for one what to say what a terrific job he did in getting things done! THANK YOU DOUG!
Had a couple of the newbie kids come up after the event and say thank you for the driving tips and that they had a great experience. I naturally told them to come out for more autocrossing at out events.
Thanks again Doug for this rare opportunity!!! You're #1 buddy!

Thanks John.
I want to thank each and every one for using good judgment, helping with the layout / set up and all the work in the morning / and all day.
This event did not want to happen but did and with no bad spins or dangerous incidents. The Speedway threw every #^*@** curve ball they could at us. It was frustrating but we still pulled it off. Some folks went home early and I want to thank them for all they did (some did not even get to run and I hope we can make that up to them, seriously!). Most folks got 8-12 runs so for them it worked out. I do not think we will ever do any driving events at Irwindale Speedway after the way we were treated by the track staff.

I wasn't too certain we would be able to pull it off considering we started almost 3 hours later than scheduled, but I ended up having a great time, so thanks to everyone who chipped in to make this happen despite the odds.
Here's a video of a couple of my runs:

No workers in shorts?
Last time I was there, the idiot instructor of their race school was in charge. Tech consisted of checking air pressure. Most important thing.... Air pressure.

No DRIVERS in shorts. Working in shorts was perfectly acceptable.
