In all fairness to the management at Irwindale, they are used to NASCAR-type racing where there have been long-pants rules in effect forever. In the old days we had to wear white (whities) pants to get into the pits - crazy rule, but the long pants rule is okay. We are just spoiled with our own laid-back rules, besides we don't run in a bull-ring where walls can be your enemy. Give-em a break, it's their track - their rules. I just hope that we can do another event there - the banked ovals were a blast! :D  :D

Took me a few runs to get used to the banked ovals, but once I got the hang of it, it was a lot of fun!

I had a really good time. It was very nice to get seat time in at this unique location.

I had a great time driving, and working the event.

Thanks again Doug.

I was upset about the long pants rule, but thanks to Pierre M. who went out to buy a few extra sets of sweat pants for us to share  we all got plenty of laps. It was challenging to set up a course that fits in a circle, and Doug's initial design was a good starting point, but when you have to run on an infield which people use as pits, we had a bit of oil that we had to avoid. The course was slippery in the morning, but the afternoon runs were good, and the back section doing S's at top speed on a banked turn was very fun.

I had a great time. A lot of work, a few runs, but all in all fun. I would do it again.
unfortunately the event ran longer than I expected and I had to leave early to take my son home.
So, sorry for leaving you guys short. And thanks again to Art for showing me how to thro down a killer time in my car.(thanks to HIS driving  )
