Nov 22nd and 23rd, Saturday and Sunday. Auto-X at Cal (now AAA) Speedway by Speedventures.

same as ones ran last few times early May, June, July and September. a few of u were there.

Lat few times, my car got 20-40 runs per day. Course time were between 30-40 seconds. This is on the smaller lot by the track.

usually a total of 30-40 cars per day.

$80 per day (or $150 per weekend), as many runs as you want. 9am-4:30pm.

some of ur local hot shoe should come and kick some butt !!

DO NOT have to work cones.

I realize that these are shorter courses, but in the past, have the courses for these events been tight, low speed courses, or more open, faster courses? I'm just wondering if it is more big-car friendly.

it is a smaller lot, so course is tighter, lower speed than CSCC courses. in the past, it has always been small car friendly at Speedventures auto-x

Is it the lot next to and west of the water tower? Not a lot of room there for long/fast course.

Yes (that's where BMWCCA held their Car Control Clinic)

We will usually just touch 3rd, 33-36 seconds FTD for a CSP equivalent.

you can share the car, but both will need wrist bands ($$). Hey no work and just about as many runs as you and the car can
take for what $80 each seems like a great deal to me.

Yeah.....

Some of us have two or three people in the car.

Even if we didn't I'm not sure we'd want 40 laps.

Sharing runs is sometimes the only thing practical.

I'm sorry, I don't know anywhere @ the speedway other than the Green Lot we're at. So where is that on the map?

Bummer, I wanted to come out, but 40 runs on the car is too many runs, and $160 out of the family autocross budget is too much for the small lot. :(

We have a couple of Corvettes that are regulars. ;) You SHOULD come out and show them how it's done!

Where the road splits before the green lot, make a right and go through the tunnel. Watch out for that gigantic speed bump under the tunnel!

Just FYI for anyone planning on signing up. I registered and received an email about a "$10 gate fee" per person.

I emailed Speed Ventures, and yes, there is a gate fee. Letting you guys know since I didn't see it anywhere on there before paying for it as of this posting (their other events @ Buttonwillow, etc, clearly state it in the description).

Here's a snippet from the email:

"NOTE: There is a $10/person gate fee for this event. This includes drivers, friends, family, spectators, etc."

I wonder how speedventures will handle my refund request for Saturday. Seeing as the highway that goes to the track was closed until 9AM I have asked for a refund from Saturdays Buttonwillow event, but I'm not holding my breath... (fingers crossed.)

Something to keep in mind if you have a busy schedule, or are subject to the influence of acts of Nature!

A gate fee for Cal Speedway? Or Buttonwillow? Once upon a time, I heard that Cal Club members were exempt from the Buttonwillow gate fee.

I had originally thought it was a mistake (i.e. copy & paste email from their track events).

NOPE! They are charging a gate fee per person (again, as of this post - I've been emailing telling them I think it's pretty ridiculous) for AAA Speedway once you're in the inner track.

EDIT: They have updated the description on their site to match the email I received.

I was in the car show part of that deal last year, That lot is REALLY SMALL. I can't see a vette getting out of first gear. (Steve)
I will be there this year in the show also. If it were me I would spend the extra money and run the roval with speedventures. That is if I had a car that ran good enough.

The course is very small. No need for first gear. Second is fine. Remember no course work. I just take out the cones that are in my way. Pretty much like always.

So, they're charging a gate fee at AAA Speedway? [I wonder if the management knows that.]

Vara does the same thing (ROVAL), so it's not SV going and charging a gate fee I would think the track has this as part
of the package for the rental
