I saw the link yesterday, figured I'd post the announcement for everyone... but luckily tested it first.

It wasn't working then. It is now.

We do have annual tech stickers available for our seasoned veterans; see Eric Clements or Max Hayter with your official '09 rule book for the inspection.

If you haven't ordered a rule book yet, you can do so at the SCCA's on-line store. I believe you'll need to login with your SCCA member number to order.

Here's something helmet certifications I hadn't seen before; adds SFI and British standards:

There's also a quick guide to classification:

If I print out a copy of the pdf file is that acceptable for getting an annual inspection, and registration at the national events?

Strange...in the table of contents, the new class names are not listed. They are correct when you get to that section though. :?

I used to always get mine at the SD tour, but I want to have it time for our annual tech so I ordered online.

There is no specific time for annual tech. While they may set a specific time and place some time, it's really a matter of making an arrangement with Eric or Max. The inspection is generally not done during regular event tech since it's supposed to be a much more thorough inspection. Also note this is in general not offered to newbies. The inspectors get to decide who is worthy (if they trust the person to keep their car maintained properly the whole year). Those of you that like to harass Max about his "orientation" may be in trouble.....

Having owned a Spitfire, it is difficult for me to put Spitfire and Annual Tech in the same sentence

But the idiots at SCCA can't figure out that the only safe helmet for a 5yo of normal size is an SFI 24.1 rated youth helmet. So, instead we have kids competing with unauthorized helmets (the safe choice, but could get us in a lot of trouble) or using a legal helmet that is WAY WAY too loose. Its a three year old problem that can't get fixed.

That may be so (and I think you got lucky), but for Annual Tech, you need a real rule book.

Don't count on getting that binder accepted at national events. That's NOT the way its supposed to work.

Oh come on.. It's 2009 and the table of contents STILL isn't clickable? It's the rules for the year.. spend half an hour, whoever puts that pdf together, and link the topics to their sections. It's as if the person putting it together has never done research on the internet before.
