Any fans of Leonard Cohen here?

Post by Reijo Silvennoinen »

Not related to Leslie ( :) I think... correct me if I'm wrong! ) but:

He's been around for a long time with a few "hits" but he is more of a poet than anything ... somewhat Dylanish I think. Lately his music has grown on me more and more and thot I would share this link with some newer stuff with those who might like it:

Cheers!

Love (early) Leonard! http://www.leonardcohenfiles.com/indez.html

... even though he was voted the most popular singer by suicidal swiss girls! (according to my rock solid swiss gf at the time)

Of course it was cool that even as an old guy, before becoming a monk, he had hottie girl friends like Rebecca De Mornay. A friend worked on one of her movies (Hand That Rocked The Cradle) and Leonard hung around the set.

I guess we're lucky that his agent stole him blind forcing him to leave the Buddhist monastery here in LA and go back to work.

I came to Leonard Cohen late first hearing him on the soundtrack for Natural Born Killers. Good stuff.

I've been a big fan since the early 70's. I got him to autograph a CD for me a few years ago when he was at KCET doing an interview. The man is a brilliant poet. "I've seen the future and it is murder." When he wrote that I don't think even he knew how true it was.

Been listening to his stuff since the early 70s also. Don't have any of his stuff on CD; as soon as I have money for new music ...

Yes, new old music. iTunes isn't free. I buy some stuff from iTunes, but still buy physical discs if I want the whole album and higher quality audio.
