Cool, can you help me tune my MT. bike shocks? They are double adjustable...Funny that my auto-x car has singles but my bike has doubles! Will Kalman wrote:And I'm 40.0027 (yes, yesterday) and celebrated in fine style.... 14 miles of singletrack!

I've been driving 8 years longer than you guys have been alive. And autocrossing almost as long (37 years)!

Yeah - I went out about 3 weeks to do 10 - 15 miles of single track - did about 1/4 mile, mild crash, and broke my kneecap in half. I'll be hitting 56 in two weeks - a week after that, I get to start bending my knee and as soon as I can get enough range of motion, I'll be back on the bike. Sitting around with a full leg brace really sucks...
Seb, let me know if you need help setting up your shocks - I used to work in the industry (Intense Cycles) and understand MTB suspension fairly well.

Thanks Rick. I'm constantly surrounded by people born in the mid-eighties. In about two years, the new staff will have been born after I graduated high-shool.Rick Brown wrote:I've been driving 8 years longer than you guys have been alive. And autocrossing almost as long (37 years)!

Happy Birthday you young whipper-snapper!
Re: I thought you were turning 40 this year?
My joke at work is that I have ties older than most of the people and now I am finding out I am as old as a good number of THEIR parents, but we have a good time. 18 miles this past weekend on the middle fork of the American white water rafting class III, IV and one V rapid. A great thrill.KJ Christopher wrote:Thanks Rick. I'm constantly surrounded by people born in the mid-eighties. The drive was 8 hours each way for a whole day - but heck I drove to Farmington (11.5 each way) for 6 50+ second runs. I tell epole that and they cringe.
BTW Happy belated birthday KJ

Whitewater rafting is a total rush! Last time I did it, I almost got killed...seriously. But it was a blast.Ken Lord wrote:18 miles this past weekend on the middle fork of the American white water rafting class III, IV and one V rapid. A great thrill.

Who did you go with? I've always used OARS, HQ'ed just down the river from Sutters Mill in Coloma, except when we did the 14 day down the Grand Canyon with CRATE in 1990.Ken Lord wrote: 18 miles this past weekend on the middle fork of the American white water rafting class III, IV and one V rapid. Re: I thought you were turning 40 this year?
We went with OARS. My first tripo with them. We used Sierra Mac for Toulumne, and Zephyr for Merced. Mt favorite was the Tuolumne trip but it was an overnight - so thet might have been an influenceCraig Naylor wrote:Who did you go with? Yeah, and my bike has dual-piston hydraulic disc brakes - better than any car I've owned!
