Stickin' It to Ferrari!

Post by Giovanni Jaramillo »

If it ain't one German marque (The Roundelers from Bavaria or the boys from Stuttgart), it's another! :) Gotta love it. Heading into the belly of the beast! Love it when the guy spits in disgust! Hilarious.

Audi's marketing department has been on a roll lately, poking fun at rivals in an attempt to gain our attention. Their latest commercial is no different; it shows the new R8 V10 prowling around the streets of Ferrari's hometown - Maranello, Italy.

The clip implies that the new R8 brings shame, jealously and rage to Maranello's residents, it even causes one father to cover his son's eyes to protect him from the horror that is the R8.

Audi R8 Vs Ferrari

The commercial at the end shows German but the English one I've seen on TV says something to the effect of "From Germany with Love" :)

Cool commercial. The end of this one says "advantage through technology."

Oh you stepped into that one Bill! I let others do my dirty work (thanks Kurt, Aaron) :D . Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones! :)
Also if you notice at the beginning of the commercial there's a TV in the background and they are playing a race, it's a Formula 1 race and it just so happens to be a Ferrari. Perhaps it's one about to crash (Massa, Raikkonen).... :)

P.S. - Bernie Ecclestone is out of his F****** mind! Bernie story

Re. Bernie: what a whack job. He should run for Alaska's G.O.P. Gubernatorial candidate now that the Other Whack Job has cleared out. ;-)

Vorsprung durch Technik

a German phrase usually translated to English as 'progress through technology'. Literal translation is more like 'advancement through technology'. I don't think there's an English word which is an equivalent of 'vorsprung'

AFAIK, it's been an Audi slogan since the 80s.
