Camera Mount - Rules

Post by Andrew Bingham »

Can someone enlighten me as to the rules regarding an in-car camera mount?

If I clamp to the windblocker behind my seat and also have a tether attaching the camera to the clamped mount, is that sufficient?

There are many factors involved to judge the safety of any one situation. Have your camera in place before you go to tech. They'll let you know.

Here's an approved way.

I had one of these clamped to my roll bar for a while, and it worked very well. You could also remove part of the roll bar clamp and hard mount it to a flat surface. Either way, the camera needs a secondary strap like the red one pictured at the bottom.

I haven't used mine in years. For sale: $75!!!!
