Vail??
I'm worried he'll fall back into to his old habits. Yeah, it's summer, but still, it is a slippery slope...

I can't see the results on that link but I think he was running either one of the JS (jack stand) or HP (hard parkin') supplemental classes...

Nope. He had 2 complete brake rotor failures on Friday. Scary. That car is now actively trying to kill him.

Ask Bill about the recent modifications to the front brakes in an effort to reduce more weight?

O.K., that's funny!

----------------------------------

Thank you all, (yes, even you, Glenn ;) ) for the kind words!!!

Learned a painful lesson last weekend; do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT run tires @ a National event that has clag/O.P.R. (Other People's Rubber) on them. :ibrightdea:

I used a set from the S.D. Tour that picked-up the stuff after the last run there. I bagged them up and figured I'd clean them off in a couple of runs @ the Friday T'nT. Due to the aforementioned complete rotor failures (did I mention I saved ~8.5lbs/corner over stock?), I never got to try and clean them off. Figured the first run would take care of it on Sat. Not a chance; this stuff was glued on and never came off in 6 runs. The car didn't feel right, and I was getting some really bad understeer (something I never get in the car unless I'm really driving like an idiot) but I'd still come through the finish thinking I'd had a decent run. I was truly shocked at my times and really thought there was a timing problem! :o

Did I mention that I got beat by every SP, P, Mod class, plus SS, AS and DS?! :unimpressed: :barf: :unimpressed:

I was so depressed Sat. night. I Didn't really realize that the tires were the cause and just thought I drove like crap and dug a hole so deep that there was no way to do better than maybe 2nd.

We put on an old set (30+ runs) of tires, my practice tires, and ran on those for Sunday. Had to sit on my first run (actual first run I stopped for a missplaced cone that the jerk corner chief refused to check out; I had to get a hold of the timing trailer via the Grid Chief to get them to check it - turns out I was the only guy that stopped for it and the only one to get a re-run! It sure pays to memorize the course! It also sure pays off to be lucky!!! That misplaced cone stayed that way for quite a few people before they finally fixed it), but luckily, it was just good enough to come from 4th and ~1.3secs. out, for the win.

Did I also mention that other than the S.D. Tour (where we still had some mysterious dB problems) my car has not had at least one problem @ EVERY race or practice since?! :unimpressed: I am getting soo tired of this...

Hmmm, let's see, how many team points has he contributed since we let him into PSCC.........

On the other hand, I suppose he could blame joining PSCC for all his troubles.....

Not to take anything from Bill, but I have to congratulate Drew Little ESP. 1st in PAX couldn't have gone to a nicer guy.

Back when we ran in STX together, we had met once at the Denver National Tour in 2006. In 2007, at Nationals, when my WRX's transmission blew during Shauna's day 2 runs, he literally threw me the keys to his STX prepped WRX so I could run on day 2. All this is after meeting just once at Denver, and then sharing 1 meal at Pat's Pig! :king:

I'll try not to get too dribbly...but people like him are what make this sport so cool, I hope I can affect someone else's autocross experience in a similarly positive way.

With all the "murican iron" grublin goin on, poor guy might just get the WRX's throwin into BSP for his trouble if he manages to win at nationals.

don't worry, the evo will be moved to ASP before the wrx goes to BSP (according to SCCAForums, the official source of such news)

just to be clear the sarcasm is set to level 10 for both of these posts.
